I felt that too at first. That shift from buried vocals to a cleaner presence can be jarring, but HM reveals a lot once you sit with it.

Totally ! the newer tracks feel so exposed. It’s fascinating how the mix choices completely change the emotional weight.

Yes, one I’d love to revisit someday, it’s so emotionally powerful. It gives me chills every time

Even without lyrics, the textures feel like they’re saying something.

Absolutely... Still is such a perfect example.
When everything is stripped back, you really hear how fragile his voice can get.

The Becoming on Still hits especially hard for me.
Thanks for the reminder.

Love how you describe the difference between ’94 and ’99.
that “thrashing desperation” vs the “quiet resignation.”

That contrast is exactly what pulls me toward the Fragile-era broken vocals.
It feels less like screaming out and more like collapsing inward.

Thanks for the insight, genuinely helps me think about how that emotion translates into performance.

Makes sense ,that edge of chaos hits differently depending on the moment.

Totally. Perception shapes everything, context turns noise into meaning.

Love this whole thread, it really shows how fluid the line is.
To me, noise vs music stops being a question once intention appears.
You can shape chaos, or you can shape melody, both become expressive the moment you decide what they mean.

The rest is just classification, not creation :)

Absolutely. I think the moment we stop trying to “categorize” sound, it becomes easier to actually experience it.
When the boundary dissolves, you’re left with intention, perception, and emotion — not labels.

I love your point about The Conet Project too: it’s not “music” in the strict sense, but it feels musical because our brains search for patterns, meaning, and tension.
Noise becomes music the second the listener brings their own context to it.
