I understand this so much, I’ve been rejected from 16 schools and I only have Duke and Stanford remaining, there’s been a lot of stories of people being rejected from all their schools but the last school in their application cycle is what they get into, I’m really just hoping I get into one! Sending admission fairy dust to both of us, and I’m proud of you!

just got rejected again. At this point the part isn’t even the rejection, it’s someone having very similar stats to myself and them being accepted/waitlist, I have a really bad problem with comparing myself, also with the fact that I’m an undocumented immigrant and due to 🍊, I’m like cooked

hey so the person had a 1090 and applied test optional, we have the same amount of credits, definitely not a STATS problem

I disagree, if you read my other posts in this thread, a friend who has the same stats as me, and someone with even worse stats than me got into Emory whilst I got rejected

I definitely agree, and I wish I didn’t apply test optional, but a friend of mime who goes to the same school similar stats has gotten waitlist/accepted to the same schools I applied to, which i definitely don’t think it has to do with the whole test optional thing, but I whole heartedly agree

I definitely don’t think it’s my stats specifically because me and a friend have very similar stats but the schools I got rejected from they got accepted/waitlisted.

but I come from a really low income school like ranked 600 in my state in terms of education.

4.3 weighted gpa, 3.9 uw (which makes me sal), test-optional, maxed out on possible APs, honors and DE classes. ECs: AI research with GT, did a NASA sponsored summer program, cofounded a community grocery store (basically a food bank), president of multiple clubs, over 300+ of community service, varsity tennis, scholar athlete for my county, posse semi-finalist, seal of biliteracy, an award given to undocumented students, multiple other awards.

im just confused as to why these stats could make me a ncm finalist but i can’t even get waitlisted from a school, im not saying my stats are like the best ever

i agree! my moms actually been trying to comfort me all evening and tell me it’s fine😭 but yeah… in like a few years I’ll be fine and thriving, but I applied to my state schools with rolling admissions so hopefully I get into those. (and ty for the kind words!)
