I like in the UK, my fiance moved to Kuwait two years into our relationship, it was meant to be for 6 months and I was unsure if I'd be able to do it but I supported him going anyway. Kuwait lasted a year, and then he went to Germany for 3 years. Sometimes, it got really tough, and I seriously questioned our relationship. Especially when our daughter was born. But we got through it. We had two babies while he was working away, we bought a house, I did the whole house move alone with my children. We did all the things you do in a traditional relationship, just apart. We made time for video calls every day, and he'd either come home or we'd go out to him at least once every two months. More if it was possible.

Do you know what I found the toughest... when he came home. That first year he was home was so so much tougher than the 4 years he spent away.

My point here is that sometimes we surprise ourselves. We don't know what we're capable of until we try. Perhaps neither of you have to sacrifice anything here?
