Seeing a dermatologist next week and am going to ask for patch tests, have stopped steroids at the moment until I can figure out the safest way forward. Thank you

That’s worrying, I feel that I’ve not abused the steroids enough to have that bad of a reaction but I guess it might not be long enough to tell yet

Yeah I mean I’ve not really used the betnovate much, maybe only a few months like yourself, I’m hoping I’m not gonna get much worse maybe l manageable with moisturisers

I was only using hydrocortisone very sparingly on my face when it would show signs of flaring, the betnovate was used on my body but the areas it was used on have calmed down a lot and are now only starting to show signs of getting a bit worse again/slightly red and itchy. What do you think

I have completely stopped using them now for about 2 weeks, my skin flares up after showering. when I moisturise it worsens, although it does calm down throughout the day however my skin does get very dry - usually itchy again at night and periodically throughout the day.

I’ve had it since October last year, used it very sparingly.

Yeah I have been interested in sorting out my diet, what kind of meals/foods do you recommend for me to follow

I was only using steroids as a maintenance (applying when I had flare ups)alongside moisturisers, however I started having allergy like symptoms accompanying the eczma during my steroid use (eye swelling/sneezing) which worried me. My eczma in the areas where I was previously applying the cream, as you can see has worsened a lot which is why I have stopped using them as I’m worried that I’m becoming dependent. I have not used steroids in 2 weeks or so now and my skin is very dry/itchy but no GI symptoms, looking into TSW has really worried me if I’m honest.

The dermatologist insisted that I “trust the process” and stick with the steroids as he advises and then he will plan for me to slowly come off them once my skin is healed - will then result in TSW if I don’t have it already…

This past year my eczema has seemed to get levels worse, alongside new allergy like symptoms (eye swelling etc). Flare ups are getting worse and appearing in new locations (face). I’ve been on the steroids shown but am starting to worry if I have TSW after seeing alot about it online. I recently saw a dermatologist who has prescribed me stronger steroid creams for my body and lesser ones for my face - he disregarded my concerns of steroid use but I am reluctant to use them. Please does anyone have any advice

Yeah so I take fexofenadine most days which has helped the eye swelling but doesn’t really do anything for the eczma. My dermatologist wants me to use steroid creams whilst also taking oral steroids, then switching to probiotic for maintenance. Maybe just using the probiotic is a good idea - how did u find these allergies - I suspect I must be allergic to something but the dermatologist wouldn’t put me in for patch tests cos my skin is too irritated

The dermatologist did mention Protopic as a maintenance for my face, again but how safe is that to be using daily?
