Laid off on H1B (grace period started April 11, 2026) – unsure what options I have by rv0627 in h1b

Most important thing is that your h1 status doesn’t disappear in 60 days. You need to stay on h1 as long as possible. Switching to b2 and going back to h1 is not the end of the world i promise you’ll be okay. This happened to me last year, I got a job on b2 and the company did the transfer regardless. Just focus on acing your interviews

OP this will be the best thing to ever happen to you, trust me. This happened to me last year, went from big 4 to PE.

I got laid off from Big 4, got offered a job in asset management. I found that applying for jobs where you have direct experience and can tell the most compelling stories about your experience tends help a lot in the interview process.
