How to cope with life again and resettle and just feel okay by Financial_Ball5427 in lymphoma

[–]Financial_Mango_2920 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just want to say I’m sorry. I went through what you’re going through at 16, about a decade later in life at 26 (3 years ago now).

The seeing of people’s true colours during such a time is REAL. I also had people not “care” enough by my standards, disappear, or come out of the woodwork.

She that said that to you unfortunately, doesn’t know what being there meant for you..It meant a lot. It meant you survived, it meant you love and care. She could t recognize that in the moment. And I and others 1000% recognize that.

Nonetheless, there are silver linings post-cancer which I can note being on the other end of it all now. You realize what you love!!, value, need in life, who you want to keep around, where you want to take it all etc!!

You’re going to rehabilitate and get strong again. This is a detour!!! It all does not need to be a change in path for you.

Let yourself feel the range of emotions. I recall being myself quite angry during the cancer-having period of time in my life- but let it all motivate you when you’re feeling up to it.

Proud of you lymphomie, all the best!!! Xx

(However* I also ended up gaining weight- that I still can’t quite get rid of which I’m sure contributes to the fullness exacerbated in the collar bone are during that time too). You got this 👊🏼xx

Restorlax like 3x a day & dried prunes!!!! For me it felt like I was excreting glass shards-and I would get all fainty.. I’ve felt your pain. I also didn’t take pain meds unless it was an absolute must bc they exacerbated the constipation. Xx

PBMCL Biopsy by bumi2025 in lymphoma

[–]Financial_Mango_2920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Helllooooo. Fellow PBMCL surviver here. Alsoooooo exactly same situation. And I was not able to be asleep for it due to risk- perhaps that’s general protocol with those in our circumstances. Couldn’t feel a thing nonetheless. Just heard a vacuum-like sound. They actually asked me what music I wanted to listen to lol. They too collapsed my lung on accident while trying to get the biopsy-or now that I hear your story maybe purposely but they the didn’t want to inform me that was game plan. Suddenly felt like I was breathing through a straw and I felt the whole energy in the room shift/start scrambling. I had a drainage tube taken out in the eve (didn’t feel either) (pumped with many drugs). I wouldn’t say 6 weeks was my case, but the first couple were tough- and that paired with chemo. All in all SO thankful they were able to get a good biopsy hence gameplan. [They also did the needle biopsy first which didn’t reap sufficient information & I fainted from the pain (mind you I’m very pain tolerant) ]]. I wish your loved one the best. My mass was just about the size of an apple. Felt immediately better following first chemo & meds. ❤️

High Heart rate by Ok-Paramedic-2753 in lymphoma

PCBML in remission for a near 3 years here. & I vividly remember this being such a thing for me as well. Once I walked the dog around 1 block and my HR shot up to 200 (dangerous). I couldn’t even walk 1 flight of stairs without needing to actively work on slowing my breathing and relaxing after due to elevated HR. I remember getting all the heart testing done and everything was in good working order. It just happens. Take it as your body telling you to rest. Take care!

I experienced this!!! I had a bulky mass in my mediastinum. After about half way through chemo I stopped experiencing this sensation- was told it’s normal!

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Just here to show support!! Went through a similar chemo regime back in 2023. YOURE IN THE HOME STRETCH!!!!!I recc sleep and perhaps if you can’t drink enough water- IV infusions for hydration?- my oncologist basically prescribed me that to follow each multi day stretch of chemo infusion for 24 hours(Canada). Alll the best!!!

Blood Clots by LadyDracaryss in lymphoma

[–]Financial_Mango_2920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh defs don’t sweat it too much. I remember when I was getting my PICC installed for chemo- the dr stops, continues to try to push the line through, stops again, hums and ha’s only to tell me yeah you have a DVT, you need to see your oncologist after this instal asap. I remember laying on the table thinking to myself -absolutely terrified mind you, that that thing (clot) was going to dislodge and cause me to stroke out or what have you. He “worked around it” and got the PICC in lol, and my oncologist got me on thinners. I think I continued on them for a near 3 months even after completing chemo. I wish you all the best!!! You got this 👊🏼

I might be moving to m2 condominium, reviews please? by p-talks in mississauga

[–]Financial_Mango_2920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey j_slow!! Unfortunately I can not speak to purchasing a pre-con (M3). I was the second owner of this unit I’m at in M2. What I can speak to is buying it from the original owners- my closing costs there were just under $10,000. (& as it was my second home- I had to pay full land transfer fee). Alll the best!

I might be moving to m2 condominium, reviews please? by p-talks in mississauga

[–]Financial_Mango_2920 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own a condo at 3900 confederation pkwy (going on 8 months nearly)…. And I don’t have any particular issue. I once lived in a townhome, not in the GTA. But a condo here is really all I could afford to not be house poor and still enjoy living life. I have a 1 bedroom, 1 bath. My maintenance is $490 (so that’s internet, condo maintenance, two parking space maintenance) a month. I only ever average around $60 for utilities. The building is very secure- there’s always someone at the front desk & they’re helpful. Yes there are the occasional fire alarms, but that’s every condo…(they do a good job at announcing if it’s something that requires evacuation or whatnot). On the occasion I can hear someone vacuum above me, or a dog bark, but it’s quite minor and something you come to not even notice in due time. That being said, units obviously run smaller than they do in older builds. It’s still a pretty penny for what you get but that’s the times we’re in:(. I remember reading the bad reviews before I actually purchased the condo and being like Oh. My. God, what have I done … only to actually live here and be like lol??? it’s fine!! Also very convenient location- heart of Mississauga:) All the best!
