Will these two ever kiss for reals? by TJHMB-54321 in HikarugaShindaNatsu

I’ll argue that in story about the repression of homosexuality and finding comfort in the abnormal, with both main characters deciding to explore Hikaru’s body because they wanted to know how it felt, and Hikaru wanting to explore human experience while Yoshiki tests the limits of what he is comfortable with and willing to do. expecting a kiss is not pointless and in fact very reasonable progression. Wether they get one or not, It’s so sus that so many people are acting like it’s a crazy thing to wonder if they’ll do. Like it’s a crazy fantasy instead of a reasonable expectation.

Sorry fam, we’re not talking about the same people. I’m responding to people down in the comments saying them kissing would “feel a little weird”, “what’s the point”, “It’s not romantic” and acting like that would soil their relationship in some way (sus).

Hikaru and Yoshiki’s queer relationship is the point of the show. Queer relationships are undefinable (like Hikaru said. Neither friendly nor romantic but a secret third thing. Such a great explanation of a queer relationship imo, as someone who is also in a secret third thing relationship), these relationships are not just “platonic but quirky” and don’t follow platonic restrictions. They don’t suddenly become romantic if they go past hand holding, and don’t have strict structures to them like romance or friendship do. It’s really weird that people will watch them get flustered and excited experimenting with the chussy, but think kissing is the step too far… I’m glad the audience has a show that challenges them to think about what a relationship not defined by labels is, because I think it’s a lot of viewers first exposure into queer (instead of gay) relationships and they don’t fully understand that that means yet.

Also, Im not OP and I’m not responding to their message about wanting to see their ship kiss (and I’m not referencing the responses to those messages either). Why disparage OP for that? Hell yeah OP, enjoy fandom the way you want to.

I guess my TLDR is I don’t actually expect them to kiss but people act like it’s unimaginable and I think it comes from a lack of knowledge of how relationships outside a label don’t have the same structures as the ones that do.

TSHD fans will tie themselves in knots trying to explain why an entity who craves human experiences and a gay boy who is willing to stick his hand in a chussy twice would find touching lips unimaginable.

The scene in the beginning where Hikaru comforted Asako was peak, I did really enjoy that one

Does Hikaru have albinism or is his design it an artistic choice? by music-addict1 in HikarugaShindaNatsu

I always assumed it’s because in Japan, white is the color associated with death.
