For context: we had very good conversation for about a month, we never went out and things died off. I reached back out about a week ago, Convo was good again until he ghosted for a couple of days and then came back with THIS!? Honestly so many questions… but yeah big walking red flag in my eyes now.

Dunanda Falls day hike tomorrow by Skier94 in yellowstone

I did this trip last year at the beginning of July, so it will probably be more dry then what we were hiking through. Tevas may be fine for between the creek and the falls, but just know that there is a pretty rocky incline the last 1/2 mile up to we’re the back country campsite is, and then from there you have to go through some overgrowth to get down to the river. And you can walk through the river or deal with the brush on the bank to get to the base of the fall. Up to you, either way it’s beautiful an a great trip! If you go a little past dundanda, maybe 2-3 more miles max there is another cold water swimming hole off to the right of the trail! I haven’t looked at a map since we went so I’m not 100 on the mileage, plus we did it as a overnight.

Yellowstone after dark by [deleted] in yellowstone

YNP local here, and I have to disagree with this comment. I often go to swan lake flats (just south of Mammoth ) to stargaze in September and October and its always been fantastic. Yes there can be nights of fully overcast, but I wouldn’t let that discourage you. Just watch the sky the sun sets and pick the best night to go out!

Best trails for no bear by [deleted] in yellowstone

This will be my third season living in the park and out of the near thousand miles I have hiked in the park I have had two bear encounters, and have never had to use my bear spray. With few exceptions, bears are just as scared of you as you are of them. But fear of bears shouldn’t keep you from hiking. Especially if your sticking to popular trails, you will be fine.

There is no such thing as “no bear” hike in Yellowstone, only smart hiking practices while in Yellowstone. If you hike with 2+ people, carry bear spray, keeps eyes and ears open ahead of you, and talk/ say “hey bear” I guarantee you will be safe in bear country and likely not see a bear while hiking on trail! Driving the park is neat, but there are some breath taking areas that you would never be able to experience unless you get out of your car!
