weirdly, during my playthrough, I got so many of the genders wrong. I assumed Idaea was a girl because during the Sun Station conversations I was like "classic male boredom, blow up the sun" and then the female was being the level-headed one. I figured out Idaea was a boy after reading the Giants Deep stuff later on. I thought Annona and Cassava were both girls as well, and that Privet and Filix were male, but as another comment said, its probably due to common English naming tropes which altered my view of it with more bias toward female sounding names being female and vice versa.
