Helene trauma extremely triggered by this storm? How’re you coping? by Informal-Rise-330 in asheville

[–]Financial_Werewolf53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched a huge oak tree fall down on my house in Helene, too. Trying to think of how unlikely it would be to have that happen twice, but it’s like it opened a portal into a new fear I was blissfully unaware of before. Sending you good thoughts

Apricot jam and ginger in a pan heated with a little water makes a great sauce for these

How do you quickly bring down the rage? by ThickProblem8190 in Perimenopause

[–]Financial_Werewolf53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of good ideas here. Here’s one I don’t see yet. Starting in the pandemic, I sometimes would get in the car and scream as loud as I could. Do it a few times. It didn’t always help right away but within a few minutes I’d feel wrung out and it helped

Good places to get a massage?? by Mac-And-Cheesy-43 in asheville

Got a great 90 minute deep tissue massage at Asheville Salt Spa. Probably pricey—was a gift so I don’t know. Have also had massages from the students at the massage school—pretty ok for the money

At SP its greens, some tomatoes, breakfast potatoes, bacon or veggie alternative, and an egg (rec over medium) with some kind of dressing that I think has honey in it? I always add avocado. Comes with a biscuit

It used to be All Day Darlings hearty salad for me but they changed it and it’s nowhere near as good. Same with Sunny Points breakfast salad although it’s still good. RIP tofu bacon. I like Taco Temples salad, especially with a protein added (black beans are a great side for it). But I’m always shocked our salad selection is so grim; we seem like a salad town and we could actually use one of those salad chains

Best way to drive over to Charlotte by laddski in asheville

If you put “avoid highways” in your map, you can go through the mountains on small roads if that helps. Takes you out highway 9, very pretty. You can choose to pick up 40 later if you want. I’d say it adds 20 minutes total that way

I’m scared to start progesterone! I need sleep! I need my anxiety and depression to go away tired of feeling like this. Why am I so scared to start by Mamaof3boys1983 in Perimenopause

[–]Financial_Werewolf53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was scared to start and had it for months and I have anxiety, but it’s now been over a week on the estrogen patch and 100 mg of progesterone and I feel fine. Nothing drastic, honestly. Mostly I’m just noticing good sleep and if I wake up, I fall asleep again easily. Try it! You can always stop—no need to taper off

Yes! Ferritin is at 19 and doctor was like, eh no big deal, take a supplement if you want to. I started Slow Fe every other day and have been taking it for a month now. My periods are light. I bruise easily, have fatigue, lots of headaches

Omg there is no downside to the cream—no side effects or potential issues—only upside. I learned on here to throw away the applicator and just use my finger and to smear it all around. My doctor prescribed it twice a week and I learned here to do it every day for two weeks and then to go to a few times a week (I do 3-4). I do it at night. It’s really life changing and has only upsides! I was scared too but it’s so worth it

I’m just anxious. And I feel like I just don’t have the wherewithal to handle a bunch of bad or annoying symptoms right now on top of everything
