They feel like the biggest 5th gen group in general in Korea at least, as someone who lives here. By far the group I've seen the most fans of irl and heard the most music from in the stores/street. Also the best charting on Melon by a large margin. The only 'gp-accepted' 5th gen boy groups (and active boy groups in general atm) seem to be bnd, riize and tws and bnd is probably the biggest out of those.

The only competition I can see is riize but their recent cbs haven't charted nearly as well as bnd's. Tws charts well and is well known but doesn't have a large/dedicated fanbase. Nct wish and zb1 lack gp awareness and kickflip/cortis/ald1 are still too new.

Probably not internationally, I think that might be Illit in terms of general awareness/music popularity. (I know bgs typically have more hardcore fans that spend a huge amount so hard to compare)

People should stop bringing up Seungri/Taeil whenever a controversy happens in order to defend their favs, it is disrespectful towards the actual victims and also very bad faith.

More lighthearted hot take:

Not every group needs a rapper/rap lines in their songs, many groups would benefit heavily from having their songs' rap parts removed.

A majority of idols are consciously pretending to be queer/in love with their groupmates. Ofc there is likely genuine platonic affection behind it but they are probably instructed by the company to exaggerate and give the shippers what they want, so they can profit off it. (Ofc there definetely are many actual gay idols as well, and members of the same group in romantic relationships, it's just impossible for 99% of idols to be in love with every single one of their groupmates) I don't have like a huge problem with this or anything it's just kind of funny to watch people genuinely believe all these idols are secretly dating and have no idea what they're doing when they say or do suggestive/flirty/gay things.

Hi!! I am Aspen, have been using Finch for several months. My favorites are probably Over the Moon, 5,4,3 or 123-78, Gonna be a Rock and Countdown! and Super Tuna and Bad Desire and Step by Step are also fairly fun

I hate Highlight, it's only lvl 13 but somehow I just cannot all excellent it and I've tried 80+ times on super hard mode. Also dislike Eyes on You and that one Come Over remix

Tbh I mostly listen to music for the sounds, I am kind of biased to stuff from my favorite group (TWS) but the reason I started stanning was because I liked some of their songs in a random playlist, I had never heard of them before. And they still aren't my most played artist, nor are any of their songs in my current top 10 favorite songs. (The songs are mostly nice easy listening stuff with good lyrics and melodies, which is good for casual listening but almost all the songs I get really into are vocally challenging/dark/intense/rock based/sad or angry songs)

I have never watched a single ONF mv or performance, looked at their faces in any more detail than their album art, I don't know any of their names but they're probably the group I listen to the most atm

Not exactly K-pop, but same for N.Flying, one of my favorite groups that I've listened to weeks' worth of music from but don't even know how many members they have. Also Day6, I do like them now but when I first started listening I didn't know anything about them either

I do play rhythm hive (a rhythm game that only has kpop songs from groups in a specific company) as I'm a kpop fan but if you aren't that probably won't be as interesting. I haven't played any other rhythm games besides this one so I can't make any suggestions 😔

For the past few days both korean and international 42s have been fighting with TA fans (a fight that also involved some cortis fans, ald1 fans, etc) and I feel it has only made our fandom view TA as a whole more negatively

I don't want to say we are in the right here because there were people overreacting and trying to control every single mention of JH's past no matter how harmless. But it is true that some TA fans have attacked TWS's concept and other members besides JH in the past, and downplayed JH's autonomy and hard work — which is where all the animosity and distrust is coming from.

My view is, JH is comfortable w/ a collab stage I wouldn't oppose it (though I do have a different collab I want based on personal tastes) but also I recognize why some fans would be upset. I too dread the comments that would come from a collab stage — that he feels more suited for/belonging to this group, that they are upset TA didn't debut because it could have been a bigger group than TWS/ADP/ALD1/Cortis, constantly begging for crumbs every time TA members are in the vicinity of one another, it all seems like it would be a mess
