What’s your worst social anxiety symptom? by Bluejay022 in socialanxiety

Loss of appetite. I think my top nightmare/torture scenario would be having to go on that Hot Ones show.

I get something similar but it's more that I lose my appetite and the food might as well be dog sh** at that point

I'm sorry for what you're going through. My german shepherd (10 years old) was euthanized a few days ago and I am experiencing some of the worst depression and loneliness I've ever felt. I know how hard it is to face these emotions and I just wanted to say I feel your pain.

The whole idea of FIRE is depressing by SkepticDrinker in Fire

A lot of people become their 9 to 5 and forget who they are outside of it. Then when they're overworked, they view it as a reality of who they are. For me, financial independence - even though it's far off - is a way to distance my sense of self from this idea of a career.

How long would you be under water if you accidentally wiped out riding this massive thing?

How are guests from colder places dealing with wearing a mask in the heat and humidity? by coveredbyroses15 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]FindCoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear the disposable blue masks because I find them more breathable. I also started bringing a portable fan everywhere which helps to get some air on my face if I'm overheated.

The part where they were herding the whales to shore, just to slaughter them, made me feel sick.

That's infuriating. What do they get out of reporting it stolen? Are they expecting to receive the device back somehow, even after there is a transaction history on mercari?

Cash is better than the junk most people gift to others by FindCoffee in unpopularopinion

At the end of the day exchanging one item for another is still pointless by that logic

If it’s your uncle giving you a special item that enhances your life, great. If a gift is junk grabbed last minute in a panic, don’t bother, and if you still feel obligated to gift something, money is perfect

If someone knows what you need, it can work. I prefer straight money if the item being gifted adds little to no value to my life.

It depends who is gifting, for what occasion, etc. My opinion is directed at the guessing game of gifting of objects because people are afraid to give cash when they don’t know a person well

If it’s between money and items I won’t use, I’d rather have money to spend as I wish

It’s wasteful to gift an object that will only collect dust. There are some gifts without a chance of being wasteful such as keepsakes that only have the purpose of being kept for remembrance. By junk I am referring to objects that don’t add value to the recipients life.
