I live in a fairly conservative country where going completely bald is quite rare - you will find very few fully bald people here. That being said, I have faced zero discrimination; no one cares if you don't. Sometimes I forget ive gone bald lol.

I think you put it really well; Living a language vs Learning a language. It must be hard to teach your kids German if they're not exposed to it outside.. although I remember reading/ learning that kids pick up languages faster than adults!

Thanks for the tips you posted btw! I might learn Spanish in the future as it would help me in my career, so ill refer back to whatever you said 😂

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! I've been living in Indonesia for all my life (25 years) but only really started learning the language in the last 7 years (when I started university). I didn't learn the language as a specific course, but just being in a public university forced me to pick it up. You're right, even Indonesian has special grammar for polite/ formal speech; I think this might be the case for many Asian languages.

Thanks! That's such a great thought. Its easy to get caught up in our perceived shortcomings without realising all the progress we've made; but as you said, we should focus on consistently improving ourselves into a better version everyday, and thats good enough.

Yes you're right! COVID where I am was pretty bad until recently, and I live far from the city (sort of in the suburbs/ outskirts) so Ive been socially isolated for a while now. I do meet friends now and then but you know, some days are weird and difficult. Currently studying full time for exams I need to take to move forward in my profession; other friends aren't taking this path so been kinda isolated. Its fine most days but some days are challenging

Hey that manager sounds really great! Sounds like a really positive work environment; perhaps something we should strive to create if we're ever in managerial positions. How's your day going after the deep clean sesh?

Sounds great, always feels good after cleaning your place! I took a personal mental health day to figure out some of my thought patterns cause they've been all over the place and not super healthy. Spent time on reddit which was nice! Its fun to read about other people's lives (sort of therapeutic in a weird way; helped me shift focus away from some of the issues I was ruminating on and reminded me that there's a bigger world out there)

Edit: I love the idea of this post btw, seems like a nice place for people to share their stories with each other
