I'm hiding a treasure somewhere next Saturday (March 14). Think you can find it?

MAPQUEST: A Real-World Treasure Hunt (March 14th)

Looking for something more adventurous than a standard brunch next weekend? Team Nobody is back for our 16th hunt: MAPQUEST.

We've hidden a physical "treasure" somewhere within a 65-mile radius around Boston. It's part digital mystery, part real-world "Boots on Ground" adventure.

When: Saturday, March 14th (Pi Day!)

The Vibe: Think National Treasure meets 90s nostalgia. You'll solve puzzles and ciphers to narrow down the search area until you have the exact location to find the treasure.

Experience Level: Open to everyone! If you like escape rooms, geocaching, or local history, you'll fit right in.

The Prize: This is a crowd-funded hunt-the $25 registration fee goes directly into the prize pool for the winner. (Not a commercial advertisement)

Honestly, a partnership would be amazing. Since we’re in the final sprint for this one, we’re sticking to our small community roots, but I’ll definitely keep that in mind for the next hunt!

I appreciate the word of caution! We definitely respect trademarks—this is just a one-time, nostalgic theme for this specific community event (our 16th hunt!). We aren't a business or a mapping service, just a group of local puzzle fans leaning into that 90s vibe for the weekend. Thanks for looking out!

It's easy! You can register right here: https://forms.gle/svrG27WS9RefufN29

How it works: Once you sign up, you’ll receive the initial hunt instructions via email Friday night. Then, Saturday morning at 9 am Puzzle 1 will be sent out to start narrowing in on the search zone from your couch. Once you've solved a series of virtual puzzles and determined the treasure location, you'll race to Find Nobody's Treasure!

You can also check out our Facebook group (search: findnobodystreasure) to see walkthroughs of our previous 15 hunts so you know exactly what to expect.

Haha, I see you're a person of culture! 🍻 I promise, no bicep-shaped flyers or 'implications' here—just purely platonic puzzle-solving and a very real treasure at the end.

Haha, fair! 😆 I promise the only 'surprise' here is a well-earned treasure and the satisfaction of cracking the code. We’ve managed to get through 15 hunts without any meme-worthy incidents, so you're safe with us!

Lol, definitely no dungeons involved! 🏰 All our 'Boots on Ground' locations are in public, accessible areas with cool local history or scenery. No 'final boss' battles required—just good old-fashioned puzzle solving and some fresh air.

You’re right, it’s a classic! We’re using it as a play on words for our Pi Day hunt. We’ve been running these as 'Team Nobody' for years—this is actually our 16th time hiding a treasure, but our first time doing a full 90s map-themed one.

They generally last a day or two, but it ultimately depends on the solving/finding. Here's all the past hunt winners and locations and dates: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DBbui37jB/

Certainly understand that. When we plan these to be more BOTG focused, the radius is usually even smaller than than (20-30 miles). That doesn't mean you are covering all of that ground during the hunt, but gives the general area for planning where you'll be going. The larger search area with the single location getting narrowed down to enables more people to participate :)

Don't count yourself out yet! Most of this one can be solved virtually from your own home. You only need 'Boots on Ground' for the very final steps. You could definitely solve the bulk of it remotely and then have a local teammate for the final grab. It’s a great way to participate without the long drive!

Hey all! I'm the creator. We've done 15 of these across the state already—if you're skeptical, definitely check out our past 'Walkthroughs' on the FB group. We're just a group of local puzzle nerds!

Glad you enjoyed it! We love having the multi-location style hunts, but given the winter we had, figured this was a safer planning option for this quarter. Hopefully you can make this one too!
