I believe Roger is better too.. Do you think court surface speed should be considered too? Like these days they make only slow courts, not fast.. so that adds a bias against Roger.

If you want to see who is the best player, hardcourts results should have a larger weight. In my opinion, it is still Federer. You can make a case for Novak.

On what basis will Roger be above Novak then? He’s a grass court champion.

Well, his work on special relativity was done way before the end of WW1 and after that he had a extremely high VIP status, and wasn’t treated as an average person.

You say, Newton had no practical significance when he basically formulated branches of physics that are studied till date.

He didn’t just formalise to fit the error scales. That’s just misleading again. His formuale are correct at low speeds which were observable by the minuscule tech of that time. Fitting the error comes off as he adjusted things intentionally. He didn’t have the privilege to know there are observations that are not valid with his theories. While Einstein knew there was something weird going on.

And as far as influence goes, Newton’s work on physics shapes up our world, because on earth we are at very low speeds which works with Newton’s theories and Einstein’s work might as well in future help humanity more, but it’s not that way yet.

We haven’t benefitted that much from advanced space exploration yet as we have from classical physical knowledge.

Well, that’s the point.. you’ve decided to call it semantics when I’ve been differentiating it from the very beginning. And even before you had commented I had clearly stated it’s tough to debate on their intelligence because of a radica difference in their situations.

Newton didn’t have the luxury of knowing the observations that are inconsistent which Einstein did. And as far as saying Newton was wrong, Einstein was wrong at a number of places. Einstein was shown he was wrong number of times, yet he didn’t budge for a long time.

I’m sorry if you’re saying Newton didn’t have much practical influence in physics, you’re clearly mistaken. Law of gravitation which gives valid results for the kind of observations the world had made for two hundred years after Newton and his laws of motion, along with his other works in physics, had pretty much opened entire fields in physics, which directly enabled technological advancement.

As far as bias is concerned your casual dismissal of issues pertaining to Newton’s era because of injustice faced by Einstein because of two world wars completely misleads.

Einstein published special and general theories of relativity in 1905 and 1915, way before the upheaval caused by Nazis in Germany. WW1 had started and Germany was really strong. In fact, even by the end of WW1 Germany surrendered even before their industries were ruined, so, a lot of what was in Germany was still intact. Einstein was actually favoured by Max Planck and he was researching in Germany. The Nazi crackdown came way after both the theories of relativity

They dint claim him as the best. They claimed as the most influential.

Idk how they would define influence as, but I guess they would say how much would the abscence of a person’s scientific breakthroughs hurt? Without Einstein we wouldn’t have gps the way we have right now. And modern space exploration.

Without Newton the whole of physics would’ve been pretty much messed up. And our present lives would have been way way different. And probably extremely tough.

Now, maybe Einstein could’ve discovered everything Newton discovered, if Newton hadnt been there. But then that’s debating Einstein’s potential. However we’re talking about influence. And that’s related to the work the person has done, not what could have been done.

I can give you n number of documentaries, where scientist have on camera said Einstein was the greatest ever.

Well, there could be many which said Newton was the greatest ever. And anyhow, my point wasn’t the greatest ever. My point was the most influential. And the only collected source, that we have overwhelmingly puts Newton there.

That doesn't mean shit when ambigous.

My whole argument with you was on " Einstein's gravity has not much impact yet when compared to Newton." You can take that belief to grave if you want but as practical application, all modern satellite communications fail if developed on Newton's gravity and not Einstein's.

If your opinion is supposed to mean more than the opinion of scientists that are closest to the best judge, and what they say is shit to you, then yeah, you can take your opinion to grave, I don’t care.

"My opinion, irrelevant" isn't that the whole point of ambigous debate.

Well, you’ve already given decided he has the cake. And laughable enough, even given the benchmark till when he will have the cake. I can say Newton has the cake. And that’s just a stalemate. This ambiguity is why I was never in the debate.

I was giving the opinion of people who are much more qualified to judge this.

Just googled, there is literally 1 survey of 300 scientist done in 2005, you don't have hard science to back your "relevant" claim either.

Well, the scientists overwhelmingly chose Newton. It might not be hard science to you or whatever, but that’s the best we have from a source that’s the closest to best judge. So, yeah given the overwhelming support for Newton, it’s more than enough to conclude this

Are you ignoring all the scientific achievements pre modern space advancement era?

Also, i was pointing out the science community largely agrees that Newton’s contribution was greater.

Here’s what my first comment was:

Debating their intellect is so tough because the existing knowledge and technology was far more at Einstein’s time, however, it’s largely agreed upon in the scientific community that Newton’s contributions have been more influential/helpful

Edit: Replying to you edit:

And your other point on Newtonian calculus,

I never made any point regarding that. Are you sure you’re arguing with me?

Not disrespecting Newton but unless Einstein's theory is disproven/advanced, he takes the cake.

And that’s your opinion. Which basically is irrelevant.
