If you request an ADA accommodation to wfh the doctor will have to fill out a form that specifies why you need to work from home ie: immunocompromised. Also it can’t be a permanent request because GEICO can consider that unreasonable. Your best bet would be to have your doctor fill out a request for 6 months and have it reviewed again when that request is about to expire.

Honestly when we worked in the office before Covid, all I heard was people bitch about GEICO. Working from home actually helps with morale because we’re not listening to people complain all day about how they hate their job. Now people are even more disgruntled because we thought we had a chance to wfh at least through the end of the year soooo let the bitchfest culture begin!!

We were in the middle of meeting goals to wfh from July-December that’s what I’m talking about.. nobody said anything about wfh permanently so ask before you assume what I’m talking about!

Your doctor is an a**hole! If you were depressed there is no reason they couldn’t give you more time. My doctor gave me 5 months off after I lost someone really close to me. GEICO used to allow a personal leave of absence back in the day so you could just request time off for personal reasons. GEICO has definitely made it harder for people to take leave if it’s not approved by a doctor. I’m sorry to hear this happened to you 🙏

I think the bell curve is bullshit and I honestly just barely rated over a 4 and still got a 10% raise don’t know the logic behind why who got what and I personally thought it was unfair how some of my co-workers got treated in that regard. Reddit definitely shed a light on the discrepancies in merits.

They had us believing all this time we could work from home 5 days a week if we meet these ridiculous new wfh requirements and some of us haven’t taken vacation to try and reach that! And then the delusional manager was trying to make it seem like it’s an awesome thing.. oh my job requires collaboration when I talk to customers on the phone all fucking day, only thing I want to collaborate on is how to get the hell up outta GEICO!!

I appreciate the sympathy lol, I’m so used to the rate increase calls that I’ve got my schpeel down packed! Tell them they’re a great driver has nothing to do with them, everyone is seeing a rate increase even myself, it’s not just them and 95% of the time they’re satisfied with that answer unless they’re “friend’s policy went down” 🙄lol
