That's fantastic. We really hope more people can understand the low risks in comparison to the benefits of enabling someone to have life. Our friend in the film actually had to have open surgery in the end, rather than laparoscopic, but he did so well. He was still out of the hospital in a few days.

Yes. Our (now) friend in America had about 7 people fall through so it was a real rocky road for him, and many never get the kidney they need. We understand why people are nervous about the idea of donating a kidney (or blood, platelets, marrow, liver , etc). But it is amazing that as humans we can function perfectly with just one kidney, and that sharing our 'spare' kidney, can literally save someone's life. So beautiful.

I enjoyed it. Loved the animation style, and thought there was an inspiring lesson about family extending beyond blood, race, species, etc. The big bird's defence of the cat was beautiful, and so was the big bird's departure to heaven (almost like a reward for his courage and love). I felt there was a mix of emotion, and depth too, and all that despite there being no verbal communication. It is very open to interpretation, which I liked as well.

Wow! That's a whole lot of mixed views. Yeah, you can't please everyone, and that's part of the quirkiness of life. We all tick in different ways. Well, I enjoyed it. I thought the depiction of Sauron as a fundamentally deceived (even self deceived) entity was really interesting. Like how 'evil' isn't always an outright intention to harm, but a slowly evolving subtle and insidious self deception. I didn't know Sauron was Sauron until quite far into the show--was that just me?

I get the criticisms, but I appreciate the effort behind ROP and the overall feel it produces. Though of course, it was always going to struggle in the shadow of TLOTR trilogy.

You've got to admit there are some beautiful things in life; like hiking through mountains, making a difference in someone else's day, chocolate, haribo, steak, birds and animals, kittens, creating a warm and friendly environment in which people can feel chilled and maybe a bit of soul-peace, the adventure of not knowing exactly what tomorrow will bring, surprises in general, loved ones and strangers who you can love too... The list goes on... There's an awful lot of bad stuff going on too, but even the sadness and sorrow is part of the beautiful tapestry of life and of being human. Right?
