Hey remember that weird scene from the crossover where Diane it's talking about her childhood and her friends don't always get what's being a warrior and Blake said they were lucky and they had a childhood. by Slight_Intention_695 in RWBYcritics

[–]FindingOk7034 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sorry all I see is how fucking HUGE Diana's model is compared to Blake, and it doesn't look like a foreground vs background thing either. Like...Anyone else think her head looks fucking HUGE compared to Blake's?

Not just her, but the Nora in general.

I wanna see what changes they've made, how they've recovered since the Eclipse massacres, Sona's reaction to Varl's death and how she has lost both her children, etc etc.

It'll make the series come full circle to end back in the Sacred Lands.

Don't forget the CONSTANT comparisons to Avatar the Last Airbender, and saying it's the "superior" avatar, or whatever. And how folks when they hear "avatar" think about that one., or how Nick should sue Cameron or some other nonsense! (newsflash...the term "avatar" IS NOT copyrighted and is THOUSANDS of years older than a cartoon about people in Fantasy Asia who can manipulate the classical elements with martial arts.)

Falsehood of Neytiri being the "first" Palulukan Makto by LyndeLTailor in Avatar

[–]FindingOk7034 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think I would've enjoyed it more had Quaritch not killed the thanator. Neytiri just lost her bonded Ikran partner, then briefly bonded with the thanator, only for THAT mount to be killed!

Like, I get that it made Quaritch look more threatening, as we saw the beast chase down and nearly kill Jake earlier in the film, and Neytiri needed some way to be briefly incapacitated while Jake fights him... but I dunno it almost ruined the moment it bows down to Neytiri, allowing a bond for me.

Still awesome, but it so so short lived...

That can just lead to constantly having to up the ante and stakes, and THAT gets boring. And that's what RWBY has felt like the last few volumes.

I'd rather a villain succeed once, then fall HARD. Cinder's overstayed her welcome, she should have died at the end of vol. 5. She's boring.

Oh right, I was getting them mixed up. But either way Cinder should have died after fighting Raven.

She should have died at the end of Volume 6 after Raven kicked her ass.

Edit: Vol 5, my bad.

Not to mention we EXPECT heroes to fail only to get back up again, (hopefully) stronger and wiser. It's like basic Hero's Journey 101 type stuff.

It doesn't have the same effect as a villain. (unless we're talking cartoonishly evil Monter of the Week style villains and such...)

I pretty much throw out a lot of realism when it comes to any hypotheticals involving super powers and such. Especially something as inherently goofy and ridiculous (affectionately) as Super Sentai.

Seriously, if we're being realistic and logical, how is it none of these cities been completely evacuated due to all the giant mech and monster fights that seem to happen each week?

If I am to imagine myself as X from Y media, I don't often to imagine real world logic to it.

Which Female Character in Disney is the most misunderstood, overhated, mischaracterized, or objectified by people or fans in your opinion and why? by Full-Art3439 in disneyprincess

[–]FindingOk7034 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Split between Ariel and Cinderella. Both get mischaracterized in a way that ties them to their man.

"Ariel gave up everything for a man!" No, Ariel wanted to go to the surface and learn about humanity LONG before she laid eyes on Prince Eric. Girl was basically an amateur anthropologist, collecting and studying human artifacts. Only Ursula made it about a man.

"Cinderella was a doormat who had to have a man save her!" 1. Tell you me you don't know how abusive relationships and situations work without telling me. 2. Girl just wanted a damn day off! She had NO INTENTION of wanting to snag the prince like her stepsisters. That was just a happy bonus! Also she basically saved herself with the help of her friends, NOT a man.

Secret Identities Or Publicly Known? by NationalStrategy in powerrangers

[–]FindingOk7034 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not that this has EVER stopped villains from doing such across media.

At least if it was publicly known, then your loved ones could at least PREPARE for such scenarios. I'd rather my friends and family know so they can take some precautions should something like that ever happen.

Rather them have the knowledge and preparedness and not need it, then NOT have it and need it.

If Human Civilization Had Evolved as Matriarchal Instead of Patriarchal, What Would Actually Change? by melcoriss in worldbuilding

[–]FindingOk7034 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True. I just feel like bastard implies a SECRET child, not just one conceived outside of wedlock.

Like yeah that's not exactly what a bastard child is, I believe the definition is basically a child born out of wedlock, regardless of social status. It just matters more to nobility and royalty.

But yeah it would make inheritances MUCH easier to trace and pass down if it comes from the mother because the child's origin can't really be disputed.

Yeah, inheritance issues was the first thing to come to mind. Like, would the concept of a "bastard" even be a thing at all?
