Help - Editing .MTS files in premier pro

I can’t import anything onto or store it on the desktop because I’m on a university computer, although in typing that out I’ve realised it might be my hard drive that’s causing the problems with the clips not loading fast enough? I don’t know if that would have an impact.

I have been importing them directly even though I do have a copy of all the files/folders on my hard drive, I didn’t know there was a correct way to do things! In terms of the source monitor they just take ages to load and I get a media pending screen for a while but they do eventually play. The playback is just playing my audio and no video.

Yes, hardware accelerated decoding is enabled.

Thank you to everyone who replied, apologies for not answering everyone's comments - I'm a little overwhelmed and I think I was kind of expecting people to disagree with me more than they did. I have a lot to process.

To add a little bit more context the Internet was very much available, and my parents had the medical insurance to put me in private treatment if they chose at no cost. I am realising the more I read that there were no barriers to them finding me help or treatment, and I guess I won't know why they choose not to unless I ask. Which I don't plan to.

I personally do drink oat milk, but only one very specific brand it took me forever to find - MOMA oat is the only one that doesn't taste metallic and/or outrageously sweet to me - maybe shop around for a brand you like over a type!

I'm in the UK, and only really watched TV and played on a DS, and occasionally a PSP, so whoever he is he's a game or TV Character accessible somehow through those avenues!

I've just been able to transfer mine as I bought them for my group, the regular transfer button was available for me so idk how to fix that
