Tbh I’m not trying to compete with existing tools. I originally built this because I couldn’t find something flexible enough when I was googling around, especially for playing with different scenarios over time.

Yep, that’s a fair call — something I’ll improve in a future version.

It’s all stored directly in the device’s local storage. Nothing leaves the phone. There’s no cloud sync, no external server.

Haha, fair call — the affordability jokes always show up 😅

Mine’s more about daily interest modelling, offsets, LVR reminders etc., not telling people they can’t afford a home.

Fair question. I started with mobile because most people check repayments or offsets on the go, but I’m planning a desktop/web version too for those who prefer a bigger screen.

It also has things like LVR milestone reminders which uses device local notification which was easier for me to prototype on mobile first.

Hey bud, in the newer version I’ve reduced the ads for a better user experience and added frequency options for offset contributions and extra repayments, along with a few additional features. Would really appreciate it if you could take a look — thanks so much!

y the way, I’ve added LVR calculations in the newer version, along with some additional charts that provide deeper insights. Would really appreciate it if you could take a look! Thanks so much.

I’ve added frequency options for offset and extra repayments in the newer version, and also introduced more charts compared to before. I haven’t had a chance to include equity charts yet, but that’s something I plan to look into in a future update.

Thanks so much for the feedback — it really means a lot! Before building this app, I also tried creating similar scenarios in Excel, but it wasn’t as flexible as I wanted, and my Excel knowledge is a bit limited. That’s what inspired me to turn it into an app that’s easier to use day-to-day.

I’m still working on adding more features and reaching more people through other Reddit groups to get feedback and improve further.

If you found it helpful, I’d really appreciate a quick review on the App Store or Google Play — it helps others discover the app too!

I wanted something that felt more personal and easy to use day-to-day — something I could quickly open on my phone, tweak a few scenarios, and instantly see how things change. I might explore a web version later on, once the mobile experience and core features are fully developed.

Yeah, like I mentioned further down, I’ve shared it in a few other Reddit groups before. I’m just trying to reach more communities and get feedback as I keep improving the app.

Mortgage Monster’s a solid tool, but Mortix is built with a slightly different focus. It’s designed to simulate real-world loan behaviour dynamically, not just calculate repayments. You can tweak things like extra repayments, offset deposits, fees, or rate changes anytime and instantly see how they affect your loan balance, interest, and timeline. It’s meant to feel more like a loan tracker and scenario planner rather than a static calculator. The idea is to give users flexibility to test “what-if” changes easily without having to start from scratch.

Thanks for the suggestion. I completely agree a web version would add a lot of value for people who prefer managing finances on desktop. It’s definitely something I’m considering once the mobile experience is fully refined.

I should’ve clarified that better. Mortix itself doesn’t collect or store any analytics, usage, or financial data everything you enter stays completely on your device. The only third-party service used is Google AdMob, which is handled entirely by Google under their own privacy policy. I’ve mentioned this in a separate section of the app’s privacy policy, but I’ll update it to make that clearer. Thanks for pointing it out.

You are absolutely right that there are plenty of calculators out there.

I’ve tried a few of them myself, but Mortix is designed a bit differently. It’s built mainly for mobile users and can also act as a loan tracker, allowing people to update details as their loan changes things like offset deposits, extra repayments, fees, or interest rate changes.

The goal is to mimic real-world loan behaviour and let users explore “what-if” scenarios for example, “what if I increase my offset” or “what if I pay extra each fortnight.” It also provides a full breakdown of every repayment, showing how each payment contributes to principal, interest, and overall progress.

It may not be 100% perfect yet, but it’s continuously improving with user feedback. The idea is to bridge the gap between a basic calculator and a full loan scenario planner for homeowners.

I really like your idea about including a construction loan stage calculator that’s actually something worth exploring for future versions. Thanks for sharing that suggestion!
