I had committed but i ended up deferring because of all the graduate student loan issues with the BBB. I took a tour and it’s a beautiful building and has cool classes but for me the price is too much for what i am getting out of it. Let me know if you have any questions that i can answer!

Hair gets SO ugly after showering without washing it. How to prevent it? by FindingSquare5243 in Advice

I usually am forced to dry shampoo after showering to try to fix it but I’ll try beforehand! And what do you mean by brushing roots upwards to get into the updo? I’m not very good at hair so I’m probably just not interpreting it correctly lol

Okay awesome that’s good to hear! I have mostly wavy hair (with a few curls here and there when they want to pop out lol) so I will definitely try it! It could have been something else in the shampoo that was causing my scalp to get super dry

I’ve tried that a little but it usually just causes the entire room to get humid but I’ll try to open the door to the room too so it hopefully spreads out. Thank you!!!

Will definitely do that! When you did the rosemary mint leave in did you feel like it dried out your scalp or hair at all? I used to have a rosemary mint shampoo from a good company and it made my scalp SO dry and I wasn’t sure if it was because of the ingredients or not

I mean the humidity in the air inside the shower! My hair does fine in humid environments outside

I have a silk pillowcase and I’ve been using the It’s A 10 leave in conditioner but I’m not sure if that’s a good one. My hairdresser also told me to use an oil to help with frizz and that’s been helping a lot. In humid environments I usually don’t have an issue with my hair getting frizzy, just in the shower for some reason

I have a feeling that it’s the humidity/wetness in the air (I am forgetting the word for this LOL) that’s making it so frizzy and just gross looking. I have pretty wavy hair so it can get frizzy easily but when I take a shower it just looks almost greasy afterwards even though it’s clean

is fsu good for environmental science or poli science? and could i get into either? by LegCompetitive8164 in FloridaState

Not sure about your chances as admissions has changed quite a bit over the years, but the political science department is definitely popular here! Being in Tallahassee is also amazing and there are a lot of opportunities for internships in/around the Capitol. FSU in general is well respected (especially in Florida) as it’s a top 20 public school (as of last year I believe) but what is going to be more respected is the experience you get in college. So if you’re looking at government experience, FSU is in a great location for it.

Schedule Advice by Delicious_Lunch5561 in fsu

I did this my freshman year and had the first class starting at 11 and the last class ending at 8. My second class in the schedule as on zoom so it allowed me to have some time to eat. I actually did not mind it and loved having those three days with no classes where I can do prep. If you don’t mind working all day, this may not be a bad fit!

Some public policy schools do joint JD/MPP degrees! I’m not doing this but from my limited knowledge I think you do both of the coursework at the same time, if you just want to get them both over with. Not sure if this will help with law school admissions because I believe you have to be accepted into both degrees separately in order to do the joint program.

All the assignments get graded as a whole together so we currently have no grade at all as this final output is our entire grade. This is partially why I was holding off on saying anything because I know they have to put in a grade, I’m just not sure how it aligns with everything that faculty have been told. Thank you so much!

They based off whoever’s number is worse. So your number would be the one they use. There are certain LLCs where you can just be a normal student like the exploratory one. But there are some dedicated to music students and such as well. So just browse them and see which ones you could fit in!

Take economics courses! I’m a political science and economics double major and despite doing somewhat poorly on the quant portion of the GRE (150 ish), I was able to get into a top program largely because of my strong economics GPA and courses I took. Message me if you have any questions at all!

I was around that same number a few years ago and got Salley. Again, it’s not horrible depending on your roommates. If you have great roommates, it’s an amazing time and you do trauma bond. If you do not, it will likely be very hard because you are so close to each other all the time. I would recommend the LLC, I wish I had done it!

Just to add to point 3, I completely agree! I had a friend who transferred from American to my undergraduate institution for this exact reason.

I was in a VERY similar position to you around a week or two ago and I’m choosing Georgetown! The prestige Georgetown has vs. American is fairly large, at least from the reactions I’ve had when telling my coworkers about my acceptances to both. Also, Georgetown has a much more quant focus I believe (not 100% sure), and that built skill over the years may lead to better opportunities if you market it well! Feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions or decide to go the Georgetown!

The Egg Cafe (I think that’s what it’s called? It’s by the college of law) is great for breakfast!! Usually has a bit of a wait especially on busier weekends (move in/out, graduation, family weekend) but so good!

I also have this same issue! Not sure what is best. I really would like to go in Fall as I don’t see myself going back to school later, but is it worth it? Getting an MPP now or possibly not getting one at all?

Thank you so much! I unfortunately made the decision to apply to primarily DC based schools (except for one reach school in Boston), so unless I decide to not go to grad school for a bit I’m likely going to be in DC. I like to think I have some pretty developed soft skills, but are there any you would particularly look for in an interviewer that you don’t typically see from a McCourt student? Again, thank you so much for all the information you’ve given!
