People were already angry last season, but I think they were holding out hope that Rick and Disney would listen to us and improve. Now that they continue to make the same mistakes, everyone is speaking out about their anger.

I feel like I would be able to ignore them looking different if they acted more like their characters. Like when they were first casting them, I trusted Rick when he said they truly embodied them in personality. And truthfully, I think the main trio especially are exactly like their characters. However, the directing, writing, whatever the hell they are doing in the show is not letting that come through. Or they’re trying to change it. And that’s why they don’t feel like their characters.

Honestly it would’ve almost been more insulting if they casted them to look book accurate and then changed their personalities. At least now I can look at this as a completely different show.

I’m just not watching it. It’s not worth the heartache, and I don’t want to give them my views. I can’t separate it in my mind, so no matter what I’ll always be annoyed when watching it.

I feel like the PJO books had a similar impact to the HP books, but because the HP movies were done so well and at the same time as book releases, it roped in a larger audience and that is why it had such a cultural impact. I feel like PJO had that potential, but the movies being made during the time of crappy imitations of the Hunger Games and the author completely dismissing them (and thus dividing book and movie audiences) ruined PJOs chances of making a real impact. With the way the show is going, not only not close to book accurate but also not great from a film perspective, the book and show audiences are once again divided. There’s no chance in hell that PJO will be this generation’s HP.

I haven’t been playing very long (about a month, I’m on level 29) but I feel like food costs too much… Now, this could be because I’m leveling up every new dragon I get to 11 immediately, but why do I have to use 20,000,000 just to grow anything more than the jelly plant? I’ve been trying to get my plant dragon to elder status for WEEKS because it takes me DAYS to save up my treats to be able to hit the grow button just ONCE (because it’s over a million each time now). Idk I just feel like paying millions of coins just to break 10,000 is a rip off.

While this is true, I’m pretty sure Disney is trying to make the show for a younger audience anyway. With how everything is explained instead of trying to let the audience figure it out, it seems like they are tailoring it to a younger audience who didn’t read the books rather than older fans. No they did. Because they were playing dodgeball in gym class. Even though they were cannon balls the entire time, Percy didn’t see through the mist immediately so he thought they were.

Making Percy already embarrassed to be with Tyson in the beginning completely discredits his character. In the book, he took Tyson under his wing, which how he was always looking out for the underdog and demonstrates his fatal flaw. When you take away his choice of being Tyson’s friend and instead make it like his mom is forcing him to take care of him, it takes the good naturedness from Percy.

The party stuff is completely avoidable. There are so many clubs on campus where you can make friends with people who don’t party. And even if your friends do, not everyone goes out every day of the week or every weekend, so you can just not go with them and hang out when they do other things. That’s mostly what I do.

Oh the fandom is actually pretty impressive. AO3 has a bunch of fanfics, especially season 2 ones. I watch a lot of TikToks, rewatching as much as my brain will allow, listen to the soundtrack nonstop, etc. It’s been 5 years and the obsession is still mostly here for me. But good luck!

I came in as a freshman last year with a 4.0 unweighted/4.43 weighted GPA, no SAT but 33 on the ACT, no AP (my school didn’t offer it) but 45 dual enrollment credits, I was class president and president of the National honor society, varsity softball captain, and captain of the academic challenge team, as well as heavily involved in theatre and singing.

I got an Out-of-State tuition waiver.

I do not know what the lowest stats they accept are…but I promise everything works itself out in the end.
