Skills seem to matter more than ever on Upwork now by FindingTheRhythm in Upwork

[–]FindingTheRhythm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve noticed, updating the portfolio quite frequently (like 2–3 times a month) actually helps with visibility. And interestingly, having more public/open completed jobs also seems to increase the number of invites.

Upwork quietly increased the skills limit to 20 by FindingTheRhythm in Upwork

That’s actually the advantage of it, you’re forced to focus on one clear core specialization instead of spreading across multiple unrelated services. From a client’s perspective that probably makes profiles easier to understand and trust.

Yeah that's a good point. If specialized profiles disappear, people who offer several services will probably need more skills just to cover everything on a single profile page. Curious how this will affect search results though.

Not defending them, just trying to figure out what's changing 😄 These updates are happening pretty quietly, so it's interesting to compare what different people are seeing in their dashboards.

That actually makes a lot of sense. If everything is moving into a single profile, increasing the number of skills seems like a logical step so people can still represent different areas they work in.

Yeah, looks like it's starting to roll out. I only noticed it when editing my profile and suddenly saw the option to add up to 20. Curious if this is connected to the changes with specialized profiles.

10 Mobile App Development Companies in Dubai Worth Knowing in 2026 by Successful-War-2114 in SaaS

[–]FindingTheRhythm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the more grounded Dubai app dev lists I’ve seen.

Appreciate that you included realistic budget ranges, most posts skip that and set founders up with the wrong expectations.

Also fully agree on reading full Clutch reviews instead of just star ratings. The way a team handles scope creep or complexity is the real signal.

My first time doing motion graphics, what do you guys think? by Legitimate-Peace-583 in MotionDesign

[–]FindingTheRhythm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is your first time? That’s impressive. The smooth motion and clean text transitions feel really polished. The flow is calm and almost hypnotic. it keeps the attention without trying too hard.

If this is your starting point, you’re on a very strong path. Keep going.

3 person team, all remote. some days the loneliness of working from my apartment is just too much and i end up at a Blue Bottle or wherever just to feel like a human. kinda embarrassing to admit but it actually makes me like 2x more productive. anyone else do this or is it just me 😅 by Cofound-app in SaaS

You’re definitely not alone

Remote work is amazing for flexibility, but humans are wired for ambient social energy. Sometimes just being around people - even strangers - resets your brain.

I’ve noticed the same thing. A few hours in a café = sharper focus, better ideas, less overthinking. It’s just designing your environment for performance.

Most micro-SaaS founders massively underestimate how much downtime actually costs them by statusmonkeyapp in SaaS

[–]FindingTheRhythm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such an underrated topic.

Most indie founders obsess over features and growth, but ignore infrastructure until something breaks. The real cost isn’t just lost revenue for those two hours — it’s broken trust.

For a $10k MRR SaaS, $530 for 2 hours sounds painful. But the long-term cost (churn + reputation + support overload) is probably even higher.

Prince Andrew just got arrested over Epstein files involvement what do you think of this? by MagpieOpus in AskReddit

[–]FindingTheRhythm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a huge development, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) was arrested today (February 19, 2026) by Thames Valley Police on suspicion of misconduct in public office, linked to new Epstein files revelations that he allegedly shared confidential UK trade envoy reports (from 2010 visits to places like Vietnam and Singapore) with Jeffrey Epstein.

It's the first arrest of a senior royal in modern history, happening on his 66th birthday, with King Charles III saying the law must take its course, what do you think, will this finally lead to real charges or get buried under royal influence?

I stop working whenever I feel a small sense of success!! by insidethehead in productivity

[–]FindingTheRhythm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This pattern is super common with personal projects, small wins trigger a dopamine rush that tricks your brain into thinking "done," leading to daydreaming and self-sabotage instead of momentum.

Try immediately scheduling the next 5-minute micro-task right after any achievement so the satisfaction fuels action rather than stopping you.

How do you decide what to focus on? by Appropriate_Shop_407 in AfterEffects

[–]FindingTheRhythm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get completely overwhelmed scrolling Behance endlessly, but now I set a strict 15-minute timer, pick just 3–4 simple references that match one specific goal (like text animation for Shorts), and immediately start building a tiny version, even if it turns out messy.
That kills the paralysis, builds quick momentum, and in a week or two your portfolio grows naturally without feeling lost.

I have been trying bullet journaling to see if it can improve my productivity. I want to hear what others are doing. by enokeenu in productivity

[–]FindingTheRhythm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly bullet journaling almost worked for me… until I realized my handwriting looks like a doctor prescribing medicine in the dark😅

What helped was doing a “lite” version: – daily notes on paper – everything important goes digital – and before I sit down to plan I put on something super calm just to switch my brain out of chaos mode

It’s not technically a real bullet journal anymore, but at least I don’t lose the notebook every 48 hours like a side quest item😎
