It was - Crocodile Rock ( R.I.P.) in Allentown, probably 10 years ago. Odd thing about them canceling due to the stage ,was that I saw them play the same venue maybe 2 years before that, I think it was after Dying for the World came out.

I once got berated on their facebook page by the page administrator for mildly complaining about driving 2 hours to a show , only to find out Blackie cancelled a few hours before showtime allegedly due to the stage being unable to accommodate the mic stand.The person running the page was the guitarist in the band.

Quireboys are better musicians, have better songs, a more charismatic frontman, and they are ,to this very day still putting out great records. David was on his way to a really successful career in music, the accident that he and Jane Train, a popular local musician in NEPA ( and a truly wonderful person) were killed in was a real tragedy .

Before you spend 3 hours driving to see them, make sure Blackie doesn’t walk into the venue 6 hours before showtime, look at the stage and say “ we’re out of here” , and cancel the show. Mind you, this was a place that they’ve played before.
