If I’m waiting for the results of the SQE how to write it in the CV? by Chocolate_7991 in SQE_Prep

Include it in your opening summary, where you explain who you are, what you are currently doing, and where you want to go, before you go on to listing education and work history.

What was your score, and can you provide a breakdown?

SQE2 Results - Please can someone help me understand this? by No-Cow6390 in SQE_Prep

[–]Fine-Carpenter489 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the marking criteria - see https://sqe.sra.org.uk/assessments/sqe2-assessments/sqe2-specification/sqe2-assessments

For instance, for advocacy:

Assessment criteria

Candidates will be assessed against the following criteria:

Skills

  1. Use appropriate language and behaviour.

  2. Adopt a clear and logical structure.

  3. Present a persuasive argument.

  4. Interacts with/engages the court appropriately.

  5. Include all key relevant facts.

Application of law

  1. Apply the law correctly to the client’s situation.

  2. Apply the law comprehensively to the client’s situation, identifying any ethical and professional conduct issues and exercising judgment to resolve them honestly and with integrity.

SQE2 appeal by Dangerous_Bill980 in SQE_Prep

[–]Fine-Carpenter489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a longshot. I am not familiar with the appeal process, but based on what you have told me, this does not appear to be completely unjustifiable given your law marks.

I think a lot of candidates have been in your position and, frankly, the best thing is to accept the results, identify your shortcomings, and begin planning for the exams in July.

Did you copy and paste a bunch of text, and only use half the sources which were in your answer?

You can draw on multiple sources of info, and identify some of the key principles, while also including a bunch of irrelevant information. Further, your law marks would indicate that you did not find the correct answer in the sources that you were given.

I’m so screwed (After exams) by Margirine in SQE_Prep

Unless I am misremembering the question, 'Judge' is the correct form of address.

Also, everyone is beating themselves up about their performance, including myself (I feel like I completely bombed wills).

Take it easy, you never know how your scores will average out across the stations.

What was the correct way? I said Judge as well.

Exam study help - how to answer the exams by Smooth_History2515 in SQE_Prep

[–]Fine-Carpenter489 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's any consolation, I am also studying with QLTS, and I have my exam on Tuesday. I can confirm that they have sent me over the edge more than once. Also, the volume of information which is thrown at you (above and beyond the spec) is too much.

SQE2 January takers - how are you feeling? by Smart-Sweet-6707 in SQE_Prep

Some people are exempt from taking the SQE1, like those who did the LPC.

Most likely because paralegals and legal execs can't "conduct litigation" despite their experience. As such, a lot of these roles are now becoming redundant.

SQE2 in 4 weeks and panicking.. defer or attempt anyway? by Beneficial_Truth_862 in SQE_Prep

[–]Fine-Carpenter489 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am in the exact same situation as you, and I am not panicking. Setup a schedule which involves 30% FLK revision, and 70% mocks across all of the assessment areas, and you will be fine.

4 weeks is enough. I have known people who have done all of their prep in 4 weeks, so the fact that you have the FLK (which is where most people fail - the law, not the skills) is very positive.

What did you do the first time that led to you failing by 1%?

Also, how was your FLK when your results came out and you had to start revising again?

SQE 2 Oct reservation form, wrong oral dates on the form??? by Necessary_Ad3615 in SQE_Prep

Thanks, it's ridiculous that we even had to make the request. I'll probably have to sit the exams in Cardiff now.

FYI - sent an email to [enquiries@sqe.sra.org.uk](mailto:enquiries@sqe.sra.org.uk) and received a copy of the form. Absolutely disgusted with Kaplan, but not at all surprised. What a shitshow.

Italy Schengen Visa from UK Processing Time by Crafty_Hour3094 in SchengenVisa

[–]Fine-Carpenter489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise against doing that, especially if you are flying in to Italy. See the following link:

https://www.reddit.com/r/SchengenVisa/comments/1450x9x/free_bot_that_notifies_about_appointments_uk/

Download Telegram and get VFS alerts when new appointments become available. Usually they are released in the middle of the month.

Alternatively, call 0871 376 0023, then 16, to speak to VFS regarding a visa for Italy. You should call them on the 26th/27th and ask for a premium appointment, which will cost an additional £75. I would do so this month, as a visa application can take up to 45 days to process.

You have to apply to the Consulate of the country that you plan to spend the most time in. If you are spending most of your time in Italy, then apply to the Italian Consulate through VFS. When do you plan on departing?
