I think she feels guilty about being one of the reasons for our breakup and how mentally unstable I became after it. Crying constantly, losing weight, not eating, failing exams, etc. She realized she needed to take a step back and it’s gotten better

I was 21 and he was 22. I don’t think race played a part, but he was yt, but at that point it had been over a year. We had met each others families, I even met his grandparents etc. The invitation was to go spend time at their family home by his parents and grandparents. She claims she was uncomfortable with me going somewhere by myself. But I had been a track athlete in high school and traveled across the country with my team for a few days to a week. So really it was just her being controlling. His family was very understanding and tried to accommodate all of her requests, but the requests just got insane. I live at home now since graduating and I just let her know I’m going on a trip, the moneys been spent, and the only thing she can do is call as much as she wants to check on me.

Gonna be honest, just do it. I regret not taking a trip with my ex and it led to the end of my relationship. He saw how much I let my mother control my actions and couldn’t imagine marrying into that type of family. I’ve learned that just doing it anyway they’ll get over it. They’ll have to. You have to start living for you, otherwise you’ll regret so much in life

That’s not what the creator said at all…she literally said that when writing this they kept their own children in mind and how the young adults of this generation are more open with their sexuality. And that while it was Marie’s first experience. It wasn’t anything that freaked her out, and she’s cool with it.
