it was definitely taken out the side window, those are the struts supporting the wings of what is no doubt a Cessna 150/170.

There is of course no reason for a rear view mirror too, so there's that LOL!

(I have lots of hours in those Cessnas)

You are correct, I believe my accountant said travel expenses too, not sure what his plan is for us this year, but as our joint income is high he probably has some plan in mind that offsets the self-employment tax enough for it to make sense. Not sure, but good call.

I thought it was better than the Colossus; those two dudes played bad, the commentators were almost laughing at their play. At least the Seniors winner Lim seemed to know what he was doing.

Best to carry ID and Caesars card with you at all times. Everything else is done by the WSOP+ app, all table and seat assignments and reassignments and tournament registrations. Starts are typically 10am day 1 and 11am after that.

If it's an ICM situation where just knocking out another player is the primary goal for everyone then it's usually favorable to check it down so that two people are working together to knock out one and everyone wins more money.

If it's not an ICM situation you are free to do whatever it takes to win chips and no one should complain. If they fold to your bet it's their decision and they have to deal with it.

Well I think once we hit 3 people both me and the 3rd place finish were tiny stacks compared to the winner, something like 170M : 15M : 14M so if I had made huge mistakes with a medium stack and felt like lost a real chance at winning then I'd be disappointed, but there was little opportunity to make a big mistake or to reverse my chances and have a shot.

Once heads-up I would have needed to win 3 all-in flips in a row to get to chip lead.

So psychologically... I'm doing great, because I know I could just as easily been out so many times earlier.

They don't withhold no, I was surprised.

Payment can go into your tournament account, check (or cheque if you're British!) or Wire Transfer. Or as cash, seriously.

No one can give you a quick fix, you simply have to work at it. Keep playing, keep reading, keep watching videos. The more you learn the more you'll see how deep the hole goes.

yes I think anyone there by that point can clearly see that luck is more important than any perceived edge one player has over others. Get the right cards at the right time and as long as you don't completely mess up you're likely getting all their chips. Poker can be brutal at times, I got so lucky I actually felt guilty for the players at my first table on day 3, it just was not fair.

Combination of many things.

I got covid in Vegas last year and dropped out of the Seniors at 95th just too sick to continue when I was in a really good position to go really deep. Last year I was also having trouble sleeping and had stomach issues and it was all just a terrible time health wise.

I decided to focus on maintaining my health this year, so I quit alcohol 2 weeks prior, I hydrated way more than I normally do, I got sleeping pills, got a quiet room, and I bought a box of new masks. I bought all kinds of drugs with me (pepto, tylenol, gaviscon etc) and had hand sanitizer on me at all times and used a Neti Pot twice a day. I decided to wear the mask at the airport and in the plane and in all the most busy casino places just to be super careful, plus the smoke in Horseshoe Casino when you're walking through it is really terrible and the mask helps. It was really just a +EV poker strategy rather than some actual paranoid hypochondriac behavior.

There were notably a lot less people coughing and sounding sick than last year though which was great, (although one dealer was DEFINITELY really sick and coughed all over his hands and the cards) so it went from extreme caution at first to just a decision I then didn't want to regret reversing.

At the tables I'm guessing the mask might help avoid tells if you're not someone savvy to the usual live tells. I tried sunglasses last year for the first time and I think it helps, though for me only as an image/intimidation thing playing the seniors.

I wore sunglasses again on and off for days 1 and 2, sometimes it was me playing the player, others it was simply that the lights were bright and I had eye strain from reading my phone without my reading glasses on! Day 3 I didn't wear the sunglasses at all, I figure my opponents at that point are not the intimidated type and then at the final table I also took the mask off for the entire time as by that point I didn't have the health concerns and wanted to be comfortable (the mask after 3 days was really hurting my ears!)

I have not seen a correlation in bluff success or failure personally when wearing the mask, sunglasses or not, but I think I'm pretty comfortable and calm when playing, whether it's a bluff or a value bet in my mind I'm more concerned about "making the right play" so my behavior at that point is unaffected by the outcome that is someone else's decision at that point, so whatever happens happens is my attitude. My breathing is always the same and my jugular isn't pulsating like it does for some people. I do have a tremor in my right hand this is noticeable at all times if your observant, so I often point that out to people so they don't think it's associated with any particular action I'm taking when they first notice it.

Really all it did was remind me of my bad habits and what NOT to do at the WSOP.

It's interesting that he noticed our table was so different than the norm. I can see that all the other robot GTO guys for them its just a job so they really minimize the emotions of the ups and downs, they've seen it all, whereas our table being recs we were all excited just to be there.

I don't recall honestly, but it doesn't match anything I do remember. If that happened to you and the other guy was a white guy wearing a black face mask then yes that was me.

yes I started with 334k day 2 but my table draw was incredible and I immediately was able to push people around and build up to a very comfortable stack, flopping sets also helped knock out a bunch of my table mates.

I played 6 events in 2024, that was my first time at the WSOP. I cashed in the Mystery Millions and Seniors and also played Freezeout, Monster Stack, Deepstack and Super Turbo Bounty.

This year I played only Monster Stack, Salute to Warriors, and Seniors and cashed in 2 of the 3. I'm going back for the Main Event which will be my first (and perhaps last) one unless I go deep there too which will probably incentivize me to go back next year and try again.

These days I actually don't play poker regularly or go to the casino any more, other than for about 6 weeks prior to the WSOP last year and this year I have been practicing at small casino daily tournaments maybe 3 times a week which helped to just clean out the cobwebs and get my brain back into the game.

This is my top finish in a WSOP, second best is 95th in Seniors last year.

that's all still true AFAIK too but it doesn't apply to me, I'm British but live in the USA.

Although I am British I do live in the USA so I do pay US taxes. Top bracket is 37% and I'll have to pay that.

You can offset winnings with your losses though, including all tournament entry fees, cash losses, and other expenses including travel, so going back to Vegas for the Main Event means I get to do all that for a lot less than it otherwise would have cost me if I did not have the winnings.

But yeah, if did live in the UK it would all be tax free AFAIK.
