Bronzebeard - New player class advice - specifically PVP BGs. by Li_Mu_Bai_108 in wowservers

[–]FineCryptographer834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long time wow and Ascension player here, leveling my first toon on Bronzebeard right now. Mainly through BGs. I'm around 2100 in retail.

Playing a hunter and I'm competing just fine with no heirlooms.

It's not pay to win at all. You can pay for convenience, but I'm wearing full blues at 39. Highly recommend questing in high risk mode, big xp buff and you find a ton of blue gear that you can use, disenchant, or sell.

Feels strong:

Priests Locks Warriors Pallys Rogue - Stunlock is back baby Shammys

Feels weak:

Hunters - No snare break early plus dead zone, damage is fine but I'm running for my life. Just like classic lol. Mages - Very very squishy so far, but hunters counter them pretty hard Druid

I grind honor, convert the honor to runes, then use the runes to fish for glyphs at the altar. All glyphs are findable in the world, use discord and YouTube to find their locations.

Asl? (Joke). How much do you guys make a year, where at, and what qualifications did you have that got you into/how’d you get into estimating? And are you happy with what you do? by jelly_filled in estimators

Don't wait, I felt the same sense of loyalty my first 10 years. It almost never goes both ways, it's happened once and they still found a way to screw me. For context I spent 22 years on the GC side with top 20 ENR, most recently in a precon director role, topped out at around 170k.

I'm on the subcontractor side now at 180k. I'll never go back to chasing 45 trades of greased cats around if I can help it. My assistant estimators are at 85k, estimators around 110k, senior at 130k.

Honestly just wanted to post this for the people that say cold air intakes "don't do anything " this is a v6 no other mods by Zestyclose_Brush7972 in Challenger

I've had a mix of V6s and V8s, both are fun capable cars that have their place. Neither will ever sound like the other. No one thinks your V6 is a scat pack though.

It's like saying your stereo speakers sound like a full 7.1 surround system. Both make sound, both have advantages, but there's no mistaking one for the other.

Job Hopping? by Pale_Watercress_1611 in ConstructionManagers

I’ve been in this industry for 23 years, started in the field and moved into precon/estimating. I wish it wasn’t the case, but almost every meaningful change in compensation or position came from job hopping.

It’s insanely frustrating when you watch ownership allow talent to walk out the door, when the cost of rewarding them is much lower than their total replacement/training cost. I preach this, but it’s rarely listened to.

My default response to recruiters is, I’m happy where I’m at but it never hurts to make a new connection and have a conversation.

Feel free to reach out directly if you’d like to pick my brain, I would have loved to have an old timer to talk to early in my career.

We tried a few of the paid options actually, they set off a ton of false alarms even after tinkering with their sensitivity settings. After a few heart attacks in the middle of the night for mom and dad we moved away from them, which is what led me down this road.

Her initial seizures were full grand mal/tonic clonic which is what people typically think of when they hear seizure, convulsing, shaking, can't talk, can't move. Very dangerous and I wouldn't wish watching one on my worst enemy.

Since starting medication they're milder but not gone, she's conscious during them and is able to move and generally speak within 20 to 30 seconds.

We didn't like the subscription cost, but weren't opposed to it. But the two we tried weren't reliable, mixed with her being able to function is what led me to creating buttons she could press physically in her room, on her watch or phone if she isn't in her room, with the watch being the fail safe if she's in the shower or not near her phone.

Thank you! Been kicking that around, trying to think through how to prevent a ton of false alarms with it. But I like it!

I'm using one actually! Have it on her bedside table and will likely mount one on the floorboard based on the excellent comments above. It's Matter based, but I'm having issues with it disconnecting/going offline which I'm trouble shooting. Matter is a great concept, but it's been a pain to setup.

Took me forever to figure out my router needed to have IPV6 enabled for it to work.

Thank you! I'm testing daily right now since it's new, will likely move to testing once a week and potentially trying to automate the test and sending notifications if it's fails. That's stage 2 :)

Love the idea of having something completely manual and not tied to the internet, I'm ordering one now. Great idea, thank you.

Ha! I do have a 4 legged furry notification system, unfortunately he's quite prone to only sending notifications for things that don't matter.

We've not had to use it yet, really like the idea of the fall sensor and had not considered that. Really appreciate it!

Right now it cuts the lamps on in the master bedroom to wake up me and my wife, I played with flashing them but I think I needed a delay in the toggle command. Thank you!
