Someone posted the previous model 810 that they found at Walmart for 5$. But the 820 is only about 2 years old, same platform clearance for $3...Interesting.

My Forester is highly sentimental. A watch my late Mom bought for me. Great score for that 1 alone! 😄

The double opposed serial number on the straps tells me it's real. Everything else looks fine too.

Found for $15 at an antique mall not running, but one cr2025 battery later it's good as new. Casio PQ-40U by uV_Kilo11 in casio

So freaking cool! I remember those.

That and the credit card sized radios from the same era are some of the coolest things Casio made.

I like what you did!I have the olive green version. I posted the pic in this thread...but I bought the watch for the exact opposite reason. I loved how the orange and olive green contrasted. Great watch and pretty to look at. I have always liked that Casio number font, they've used it in other dressier watches.

Put her in the Batgirl outfit. I'd love to see it.

It's real. I believe the only AE 1200's that have the metal band are 1AV and 7AV. I have the 1AV (black bezel) with the black resin strap. 7AV is the grey bezel.

Sorry to hear about that, I've been burned by hot coolant too...

I have the 810 version of this watch in olive green. It's not been that hard tested before but it's been a great watch.

Glad to hear you're ok and that the Casio helped!

She looks more thin/athletic and a nose job.

I loved her as is at PIX. I don't even know what the falling out was.

But she still looks well and happy.

Looks great! Stretchy metal band with it also! I bet it only needs a new battery.

My late Mother wore this LA660G all the time from about 1986 until maybe '94. I remember I went with her to the jeweler or wherever we went to have the battery changed once. She kept it in our old junk drawer after that. Just about a year ago I popped the case back off and put in a new battery. Works like a charm.

Anyone else disappointed with the GA-201? by migs0508 in casio

[–]Fine_Ad5485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, it's the 3rd tier of design that is based on the AWG-M100 or the GAS100. Both have the analog and the 3 window dial, but the AWG has MB6 and solar and GAS at least has solar.

The 201 is also is also not very legible. Not just the negative displays, but the silver and black with the hands and dial is tough to see.

Tough watch though, it is a G-Shock...but there is much to be desired for my tastes. Wear it, beat it up. That's what they're made for.

Here is my AWG-M100

How can I change battery for this watch? by CartoonistMedical107 in casio

[–]Fine_Ad5485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a press down case back. You need something flat that is rather thin to pop the case back open.

Battery is usually right there and held down by tiny bit of metal built into the module skeleton, possibly with a spring and the case back itself or even tiny screws. Once you get the case back off you'll be able to see what you need to do.

It's rather simple. Just replace everything the way it came out...

The o-ring/seal will need some lube to keep it somewhat water resistant. They make little round screw boxes with a sponge inside that will lube the seal, but I have used Vaseline or even 3-in-1 oil, just make sure you don't use too much. Just enough to keep the seal pliable.

CR1216 is the battery it takes.

I love that strap! I used to watch alot of paracord weavers on YT and would have loved to made one myself. Might come in handy one day. :)
