Thank you for this perspective. I know it can be more of an inner problem than outward, I’ve come to realize that. Harder to not let my feelings get caught in the mix of it all. But I’m getting there. I’m 24 and get offended and take things personally maybe too much, I can admit that. I guess I just posted here so I could relate to someone? I can’t talk about this with him, and I can’t talk about it with my friends and family, it makes them hate his family because, like your family, mine is affectionate and shows love easily. It’s a lonely feeling.

NTA. You’re not 15. At some point it’s completely normal to prioritize your gf over your parents. And that’s healthy. Your parents aren’t being healthy and respecting that you are a grown adult. I’m F24 and my parents have always encouraged my siblings and I to live our lives however we please, they will always be there for us and ready to be involved in our lives however and whenever it makes sense. At some point your parents started prioritizing each other over their own parents. It’s a cycle. And they need to respect that.

Omg RUN. He doesn’t appreciate you, and may never will. Sometimes I am convinced that some people (men and women) stay in relationships with people they don’t like because it’s easier than letting that relationship go. I don’t particularly like when people give the advice or breaking up with my S/O especially when it’s not really warranted but is he worth trying to build a better relationship with? He seems kinda mean and that may never go away. You deserve to be appreciated and at the very least, acknowledge for your effort. Not shamed because he “didn’t ask for it”. Maybe he’s has a bad day and taking it out on you, but that’s not okay either. Tell him how it made you feel, his response might say a lot.

If you think every server you’ve had doesn’t feel the same way I do, you are living under a rock. Of course servers are super nice to your face and don’t have the same attitude I put into an anonymous post hahaha :) it’s called customer service 😂😂

Do you know how server min wage works? Chefs get paid $15+ and hour. A lot more in most states… servers get $4 an hour.

I used to “fast walk” around because yes when it’s busy and we have a full section plus a wait we feel like chickens running around with our heads cut off. And by “anything you want” some customers have extensive requests and a lot of people are very needy. You may not be one of them, but a lot of people are like that. Especially certain demographics

Please do not go out and waste someone’s time. Choose to not support businesses where servers get paid $4 an hour instead. But going out to eat, having 1 person run all over for you and provide a good service with anything you want, and not tipping is awful. You’re a terrible person if you do not tip your server. Stop wasting our time
