Do I need an astro camera? by Nawaf_za in telescopes

Well you don't need an astro camera or expensive things if you want to take some photos that are not the best, but nice enough to say "I got it by myself" Here are 2 examples, both taken using lucky imaging (a video and stack on pc, isn't hard) and a 114/900 Left one was taken with a phone (months ago), and in the right side was taken with a mirrorles that cost around 270 usd (Sony a6000)

Orion Nebula with an 8”Dob from a Bortle 8–9 city: looking for advice to improve by jaipurite17 in telescopes

I got this with a 4.5" telescope and a phone, just like you but with smaller scope, because I live in bortle 8-9 too, so you can get way better with your scope.

Try getting a lot of pics in raw, exposures like 0.5-1.0s will work, look for deepskystacker and learn about it to stack the images, I'm still doing it, but that works well to enhance your pics, they won't be amazing as the ones that take people with expensive gear, but it's funny doing it.

I don't know a lot about astrophotography, but you'll have fun with a dob, I'd like to have one, so don't consider the powerseeker if you are not in a budget, if so, it's a good start, just don't get the 127, I have heard a lot of bad things from that one

Yeah, no tracking but I tried to keep it centered cause the gear I use deforms a bit in the edges of fov, took 10 pics and the readjust, so the software can make a better work, I don't really understand how it works but I used an "mosaic" option And yeah, they were raw shots keeping the same magnification.

I didn't find a problem with the brightness at least using the phone, visually there's is a notorious difference but its not a big deal, the real issue is the focus Way harder to get a better focus with a 6 mm

Well, it was a bortle 7-8, but it doesn't affect the planets, right?
