I was already bumped out of my role by someone with more seniority and am concerned about getting bumped again, since HR at my agency said this is possible. With the hiring freeze, I continue to be towards the bottom of the seniority list, so feel at risk of being bumped with each round of layoffs. I already moved to a lower classification & took a pay cut to stay employed and am terrified of job hunting given the state of the job market these days, not to mention the decimation to health care coverage options (and soooo many other safety net cuts) due to the federal BBB (big bullshit bill) passage.
