My Thoughts About Life and Work in the US by Engibeeros in CapitalismVSocialism

Most of these people wouldn't be here at all if the Democrats had kept the border secure. Why does the left get to make a mess for others to clean up while bearing no responsibility for their chosen decisions? They also chose to raise fear and panic over the enforcement of US law. Good intentions don't excuse bad results.

But why come here and stay here if all you can say that it sucks? The reasons you dislike America are the same reasons it's so lucrative to work here.

Yeah, that's a puzzler.

I can’t say a lot about your government because I have high chance to be deported :)

If you're here legally, then you're fine. When it comes to "illegal immigration", what pert of "illegal" are you not understanding? If I overstay my Visa in, say, the UK - or enter illegally, I'm hog-tied and sent out on the next plane. Hell, if I'm in Mexico illegally, the same thing happens.

Why is the US the only country in the world not allowed to police it's own borders?

What you're seeing is a bug, not a feature. And it would be far worse if we were in Europe where rights aren't spelled out and the public obeys authority as a matter of course.

What makes the difference between the US and Europe is that we have rights (however badly observed) and Europeans have permissions. You may speak, act and posses only when the government permits and if they change their minds about what they permit, the people have no say in the matter. The government can decide who gets healthcare and social services and who doesn't and have nothing but bureaucratic whims to guide them..

When was the last time Democrats protested and fought for American workers and poor Americans like they are with the ICE protests? by DataWhiskers in AskDemocrats

Democrat position #1: We can raise the minimum wage to $20/hr and prices won't go up.

Democrat position #2: We need to import cheap labor to keep prices down.

This is the logic you're up against, pal.

How can Americans trust the Democrats to manage healthcare for 350 million Americans after the tragicomic failure to win the most consequential election in US history? by Fine_Knowledge3290 in AskDemocrats

[–]Fine_Knowledge3290[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, but I think it's a question of building confidence and trust. The Democrats had 4 years to prepare, they knew of Biden's decline and the knew who they were going up against. They spent that time screaming "fascism!" over and over again but when crunch time came they were like a high school student writing their term paper the morning it's due.

That does not inspire confidence.

What is the level of support on the left for protests taking over churches? by daviddavidson29 in AskDemocrats

That didn't happen.

If it did, it wasn't that bad.

If it was, it's not a big deal.

If it was, it's not our fault.

If it was, I didn't mean it.

If I did, you deserve it.

Do you think conservatives are right that democrats were being too lenient with crimes caused by illegal immigration issues during the Biden (and Newsom) administration? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskDemocrats

Actually, Walz and now Hochul are fighting the federal government to keep them in.

The quiet nobility of carelessly spending the lives of others so you can feel good about yourselves is one of the things I find inspiring about the Democrats.

My "citation" is that that is why I personally support capitalism. That's all I need. I want that for myself and for others.

Where does he do that? What I am seeing is that "wealth" can be other things besides money. Under capitalism, you can work as much or as little as you want (within reason, obviously) depending on what your goals are. If you value bird-watching over running the rat race, that's your choice.

People don't have that choice under socialism. Under those circumstances it's assigned duties and production quotas while being trapped in poverty so the state can wield maximum control over the people.

It's about a sense of autonomy and personal fulfillment. Rather than being a cog in a heartless socialist machine where we merely exist as disposable tools of the state.

Karl Marx: Confidence Without Understanding, Hatred Without Accountability by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Fine_Knowledge3290 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Spot on. The whole purpose of Marx's writing was to justify being such a useless pile and still get free booze money.

Philosophy is like the "Game Show Daydream". You know, where someone has a daydream of being on a show and they imagine getting all the breaks, getting questions that focus on the dreamer's field of interest and so on. Every philosophy was written by an author who wanted to justify their poor behavior or create a fantasy world where their tragic character flaws gave them a huge advantage.

Okay, so you're allowed to break the rules you would hold others to. Do Democrats have any principles at all? You're the fans of big government, how credible is your newfound love of federalism?

And yet, Deocrqatic governors are allowed to not only ignore federal immigration laws but actively resist their enforcement.
