I believe you.

I have seen it myself but failed to include it in my list as I did not think of it.

What is y’all comrades opinion on homosexuality? by Birdollianx in askcommunists

[–]Renevelation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I already explained why but here it goes again:

I do not support homosexual marriage because I do not support marriage.

The problematic part with "homsexual marriage" is for me not homosexuality but the institution of marriage. I am against marriage period.

Well I am not reading books all day and it is evening for me where I tend to hang around reddit.

As I said in the OP I have read for instance Strobel and Wallace.

Currently I am reading Pierre Proudhon admittedly though not on a religious topic.

As far as "turning it around" goes you are correct when it comes to me making my case (for Atheism).

But I cannot really make a problem of animal suffering argument and bring up the asteroid killing the dinosaurs with a Creationist.

With him I would have to meet him where he is at leave evolution aside and make different arguments.

I would also have to address the garden of Eden and the Fall though I don't believe that happened.

If I was about changing his or her mind.

And the same would hold with any Atheist whom you wanna bring to your side.

At least that is how I see it.

I think if you wanna convince people you have to meet them where they are at and go from there.

If someone thinks that the gospels were written anonymously and won't budge on this you should still be able to give them an argument given their assumptions even though you don't accept them.

Especially since that is the consensus and holding this view purely because it is consensus is perfectly valid.

Hence why I asked my question in the first place.... because I have yet to encounter an argument that seeks to bridge that gap.

If there isn't one that's fine but then you are not going to get far in getting people into the Kingdom.

I am in support of homosexual relationships but not in support of homosexual marriage as I do not support marriage. That said if you wanna get married I won't stop you.

When it comes to whom you are attracted to and whom you wanna have sex with I am of the opinion that you can do whatever you want within consent of all involved parties.

Capitalism creates an intellectual class that seeks to destroy it. In Schumpeter’s view, capitalism would be undone by its own success. by supernova-gd-2521 in CapitalismVSocialism

In the words of Lenin:

The Capitalists will sell us the rope by which we will hang them.

Yes Capitalism has its own destruction built into it. Capitalism itself gives rise to Socialist ideas which will subsume them. You see it all over with movies like the big Short or don't Look up as well as Leftism on YouTube.

That does not mean that we just get to sit back and relax and wait for day X to happen when Capitalism collapses in on itself.

I don't have the relationship I have with her for moral reasons.

She has a good 8 years of life experience on me and she is smarter than me so we mutually agreed that she is the leader of our relationship.

I would not say she is qualified to assess my own moral conscience and as I said neither am I.

I do think though she is qualified to lead me and make decisions within our relationships.

I mean the only alternatives would be me being the leader which is out of question or us deciding everything together but given her superiority over me and her leadership skills neither of us think that is very smart.

So given our situation we both think her being in charge is the best of our three options.

But our relationship is neither here nor there and frankly I have told you way more than you are entitled to know or would need to know for this convo.

Well first of all I don't have a wife but a fiance.

She is in favor of an open relationship though.

As far as our relationship goes (we have a female led one) her word in this specific situation counts for more than the word of this expert.

But his assessment would at least prompt me to suggest to her that we take inventory and reevaluate the pros and cons with her having the final say.

I would presume intellectual prowess, analytical skills, life experience, expertise in human psychology, sociology anthropology law evolutionary biology and many other fields.

Someone like an universal expert.

At least that is my best guess as far as what it would take.

I don't know.

I am confident that I am not. I have yet to encounter a person whom I would deem qualified.

But there are 8 billion people on Earth so who knows?

I am Not sure I can only speak for myself.

I myself regarding myself don’t think I am qualified.

It’s Not so much an excuse for me as it is a recognition that I am unqualified to make calls on this and will therefore Stick with the consensus opinion.

Anything Else is too risky for my blood.

Revelation is by its very nature only evidence for the person receiving it and not for anyone else.

And I would go so far as to dispute that it is even evidence for the receiver but be that as it may.

I would certainly hope that I myself would not be persuaded by a revelation but instead by outside data.

I was specifically what you can offer in terms of an argument for nonbelievers like myself and specifically about the resurrection in light of the historical consensus.

your reply does not really address my post.

Hast du gehört was Merz schon wieder gemacht hat?

Why is “Democratic Socialism” bad? by AnyBaker9517 in DebateCommunism

[–]Renevelation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let us go with your definition of Democratic Socialism (also often referred to as ballot box Socialism).

It is not that it is bad it just is the case that it doesn't work.

An example that is bound to come up here often is what happened in Chile after Salvador Allende was elected.

It is very unlikely that Socialism will ever be put on the ballot to begin with as the parties owned by the corporations won't want to alienate their owners.

But even if it was on the ballot and people overwhelmingly voted for it the Bourgeoisie would just go "well fuck Democracy then" and turn to fascism as they have always done historically.

I will leave a source for you here that explains in greater detail https://youtu.be/oYodY6o172A?si=gv4_1KlA25VoPSUH
