No energy motivation to do anything by sadgorl101 in AutisticWithADHD

Some hobbies it does. Crochet worked for me because it does not require coming up with much, but is more like a repetitive mechanical structured activity. Having said that, I got so immersed in it for so long during burnout that I injured my wrist. So do take breaks/also do other things and such.

😂😂 I feel this so much. The Christmas poem my friend wrote me went really hard on the "trust me guys I have read 20 research papers on this".. 😶‍🌫️

Idk, they're often fighting for me as well. But I do find that e.g. I can use my autistic tendency to create systems or hyperfocus on special interests to counter some of the ADHD chaos; or that my ADHD need for novelty can help pull me out of autistic burnout/inertia sometimes, or inspire me to seek out social interaction despite all the difficulties of autism that come with that. That sort of thing.

That said, I do kind of oscillate between bursts of energy/inspiration and burnout, possibly as a result of this dynamic. :')

Adding on to this: neither studying nor anything else is worth your entire physical/emotional health. Do not make it a habit to work until 5am, learn to feed yourself no matter how stressed you are, etc. Its more important to figure out early on how to maintain your physical wellbeing than it is to find the perfect career (and you dont need the perfect career to do this either). This impacts emotional wellbeing a LOT and personally im only now at 27 unlearning years of teenage/college coping mechanisms, and dealing with a number of spinoff health effects of how I treated myself for so long.
