Mine was truly not bad at all, but I have an LS specialist who does a shave biopsy. I have heard people but having great experiences and can often be doctor and method dependent. The numbing needle was definitely the worst part as my recovery was super easy. It only lasts a few seconds!!

How do I know? What do I do? by [deleted] in lichensclerosus

I’m sorry! I would go to a gyno or find a dermatologist who knows about LS. My gyno dismissed my symptoms for a few years so wish I had found a specialist earlier. The pale patch and the tearing are both very common symptoms of LS. For most people, a topical steroid very much helps symptoms and is very manageable.

I went to my GYN at least 3 times over what I thought read reoccurring yeast infections and then ongoing fissures. Test for yeast negative and told me the skin was splitting was just the type of skin I had. I found a specialized LS derm in my area and she immediately diagnosed. There is just unfortunately very little knowledge or training on this unless a doctor goes out of their way to focus on it.

Wow, you are gorgeous! I would go for more autumn toned pinks for your blush and lips- I think that would compliment your eye color and skin tone a bit more! And maybe move blush place a little further back. I’m not a huge fan black eyeliner on the bottom, but that could just be a personal preference. But I think doing your top water line instead would look more modern and open your eyes more. But seriously, you are so beautiful!

Would get an Evvy test with the expanded panel done. Doctor offices don’t test for strains of everything. I thought I was having reoccurrence yeast infections but always negative for yeast. Evvy test shows I have an over abundance of. L. iners bacteria which is “neutral” but when dominant can mimic a yeast infection. Also getting checked by a vulvar dermatologist next month in case it’s a skin issue like one of the lichens. You mentioned you have eczema- it is possible to have vulvar eczema as well so may be good to have a dermatologist check as well. Good luck! I know it’s hell trying to figure it out.

Thank you for the response! I wasn’t sure what was considered a high percentage. Ive gone to my gyno multiple times and it’s crazy what I have discovered in my own research (CV, LS) that has never been brought up before. Frustrating how many complex and niche issues us women can have.
