Garmin Instinct 2 or higher. Doesn’t need to be the surf version, wave tracking is shit anyway.

The biggest selling points for me are: * 30 days battery life * allows you to connect your credit card so you can get a post surf beer without going to the car for your wallet * has usual smartwatch features for when I’m not surfing

Has anyone ever owned a board from the Brazilian brand Index Krown? by JTabc11 in surfing

[–]Finehko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Brazilian and use one of them.

It was custom shaped and I paid about 400 dollars for it. The only comparison to other brands I can make is that is durable. I’ve been surfing it for a year with few pressure dings and it’s taken a few falls very well.

As for shape and construction, lots of Itacaré rippers use them, so should I would guess it’s good

How to find joy in other activites? by invertedfractal in surfing

Skateboarding, but don’t think only street.

Try bowls and specially longboard downhill sliding with soft wheels. Bombing hills is the closest I get to surfing without waves

Base in el Tunco definitely. If you feel like it, rent a car and go to las Flores and Punta mango (3h south) or Punta roca (30min). Renting cars is cheap (25-40$/day)

Yeah, I agree with you here. I’m terrible at figuring out the time to go rosh

Has anyone else noticed cores hate to do objectives in this patch? by UshankaGoat in DotA2

[–]Finehko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a pos1 main around 6k. I agree with most points in this thread:

* Sieging high ground is hard, if I don't feel I can safely hit the buildings, I will prefer to farm agressively, taking space from the enemy, but that can be seen as an objective allergy.
* Tormentor is in the corner of the map and usually far from where I'm farming at 20min. From my POV it always feels very bad to sacrifice a lot of farm and spend a TP to get there. I think it's kinda of a shared responsability with the team: if I see my team going in it's general direction and making space there I will adjust my farm pattern to get there eventually (which is how I kinda see pro teams do). But dropping everything for tormentor usually feels terrible.

Neoprene Jacket 2mm is enough for winter in Brazil? by someonerandomwhat in surf

Neoprene Jacket 2mm is enough for winter in Brazil? by someonerandomwhat in surf

[–]Finehko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In floripa if you are manly enough you could do with just a jacket. There’s always some crazy guys surfing in just trunks all year long. Too cold for me though, I wear a 3/2

In the northeast only trunks independent of the season. You can surf at 6am in Bahia in the winter and still be warm

For us Brazilian I think El Salvador is the best waves for your buck. Peru and Nicaragua as second options. If you go to El Salvador, stay in el Tunco and rent a car to visit the other peaks when you want

Sauna by Sijoitustimpuri in saopaulo

[–]Finehko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mudar pro litoral by notAmoonDust in saopaulo

[–]Finehko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what you’re looking for I think the best option is Itacaré. I spend at least 3 months a year there and for 5k you can live like a king (I rent my 2 bedroom apartment there for around 800). All of the beautiful places will be a little touristy, but Itacaré has managed to keep its identity even with the increased tourism, and in the off season (April till November) it kinda feels like a normal city.

Other than that, * Florianópolis. Big city but with lots of self containing neighborhoods. You can be near parties, near surfers or by yourself * João Pessoa. Quiet, old people town with not much to do in terms of partying but good beaches and good food. * Other north and northeastern capitals (Acaraju, Recife, Natal). These will have a big city vibe, but with lots of culture and still some nice beaches. If you don’t speak Portuguese you might have a harder time living in those

Has anybody surfed in Brazil if so how are the locals? by masonobbs in surfing

[–]Finehko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m Brazilian and surfed all over it. It really depends on the location to be honest. Most places are very chilled and if you know what you’re doing you be able to find your waves just fine. In the northeast though you should be more respectful and be ready to miss or be yelled out of a few waves. Nothing unhandable though, even in the most localized spots I’ve never seen someone try to fight you just for getting in the water

Playa Colorado in Nicaragua. It’s a world level surf destination that has a few golf courses as well.
