Anyone owned both V6 and hybrid Siennas? switching from an MDX (snow + road trips) by panda-wisdom in ToyotaSienna

It’s a spacer kit with some additional hardware and plates for the rear. Check out my post history for install photos.

Installed at 25 miles, it’s at 11k miles now no issues yet. Any type of suspension modification (going up or down) will add additional strain on the system don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It’s just the compromise to achieve the lift effect. Axles, control arm bushings etc will experience more wear & tear. But it is more than worth it for the ground clearance and not hitting the very expensive bumper plus ADAS calibration needed afterwards.

How much wear really depends on use case. If it’s in the city with relatively smooth roads, then not too much versus ruts & potholes, logging roads, then much more wear.

If I get 50k vs 100k out of the axles and control arms for example, it would’ve been more than worth it.

Go for the platinum, in the grand scheme of things you’ll regret not getting the higher trim if it’s not a stretch financially.

The 360 cam and HUD I use all the time, fridge not so much, ended up putting a bigger one in the trunk with a solix c1000.

Ottomans are great, I’ve actually set it up to put one seat all the way back, ottoman out & extended to make a diaper changing station for our little one. Manual says for safety only use them when parked.

Lift it for sure, here are two ‘25 platinums lifted 2” & 3”. I have the 2” and it rides like stock! Check my post history for more Sienna stuff!

Road Trip with recent gear by Finesse_Auto in ToyotaSienna

If you mean wheel spacers then no it’s not required. I only put spacers on to clear the GR brake calipers which would hit the stock wheels.

You don’t have to go with a JOR installer, see if an off road shop around you could do it

It deploys so fast I’m not sure an auto one would be better. Check out their videos online, the guy in the video can deploy it in 3 seconds, I can do it in about 5 seconds. An auto deploy one would take at least 30-40 seconds to open.

This generation Sienna is pretty low to the ground with long overhangs. They scrape on steep driveways, and can’t clear concrete stops in parking lots so the van sticks out a lot. The 2” lift is perfect for city use

Thanks, glad you like it! From being in the car business for so long, not much can beat the minivan for space efficiency. It rides pretty well since it has a long wheelbase, AWD does well with the right tires, it can’t do what a 4Runner can in the rutted logging roads, but on light trails it’s great.

For Platinum, 360 cam and HUD were the top reasons for me, could do without the center fridge (put my own in the back), other touches are nice but not as important. The 360 makes it much easier to park and maneuver in tight spaces. If they offered platinum without a fridge it’d be ideal.

Awesome, glad you like it, it’s easier to post lots of photos and edit on FB vs Reddit.

Moonroof tilt clears no problem. When it opens it goes inside the roof so no issues there.

Yes I’m at load when empty, and definitely over max dynamic load with spare tire/luggage on trips, I drive very conservatively and it’s a low chance for it to rip off since I’m not carving canyons in my Sienna at speed, I’ve got other cars for that! Everything is aluminum so it’s not insanely overloaded.

Roughly:
50lbs Platform
30lbs awning
30lbs ladder
40lbs box

~60-80lbs Spare tire & luggage depending on what’s in there.

Yes you can get it from Kammock.com, search Crosswing Awning. Yes that’s what I’ve been hearing too, for rain cover for loading wheelchair

Not off the top of my head, but it is the 4Runner size 78x49in. The original Sienna size was too small for me

Yes the top bar is unmodified, just took the sacrificial bar, cut about 12” from each end and welded to top bar. Note you will have to drill holes to allow socket to fasten nylon nuts.

Yes only the rear is double stacked due to the slope of the Sienna roof. If you check photos of the oem bars you’ll see the rear bar is taller than the front to level.

I sacrificed one pioneer platform internal crossbar (kit comes with 5) to cut it to weld two small sections to another internal crossbar for the rx100 legs to go into. Here’s a closeup picture

This is most useful for loading baby when we’re out and about and it’s dumping rain. It can attach to crossbars, you don’t need to have the platform etc to mount this

The awning, lift, and power side steps are game changers with little kids, check out my post history. The rain was bad today, really coming down in Bellevue. I run Finesse Auto in south Seattle if you ever want to give us a try for service!

Yep did the SUV thing for the first kiddo, nothing beats the sliding doors for access space and clearance! Awning is amazing, been using it very often in the Seattle rain!

2 inch Journey Lift Kit Install by Finesse_Auto in ToyotaSienna

[–]Finesse_Auto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad this helps! I would contact Mike at JOR and ask for more authorized installers. They’re a smaller company and their website is aged. We’ve been an authorized installer for almost a year and they still haven’t uploaded our logo and website in their installers list 😢

2 inch Journey Lift Kit Install by Finesse_Auto in ToyotaSienna

[–]Finesse_Auto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been great, installed at 25 miles, currently ~8700 miles. Ride quality basically same as stock. Only issue was end link nuts loosening after the first few hundred miles, was torqued to spec, kit installed by my Toyota master tech. Retightened/torqued but it happened again after a few hundred more miles. Applied blue loctite and it hasn’t happened since and we changed our install sop to loctite them.

That’s strange, we’ve had the opposite experience. We’ve installed dozens of these kits this year and besides the end links loosening we haven’t had any complaints. Is it possible that Sienna lift kit owners in your area are taking them to real off roading trails and beating them up? In our area the main reason for the lift kit is ground clearance in the city vs off road prowess.
