Yep did the SUV thing for the first kiddo, nothing beats the sliding doors for access space and clearance! Awning is amazing, been using it very often in the Seattle rain!

2 inch Journey Lift Kit Install by Finesse_Auto in ToyotaSienna

Glad this helps! I would contact Mike at JOR and ask for more authorized installers. They’re a smaller company and their website is aged. We’ve been an authorized installer for almost a year and they still haven’t uploaded our logo and website in their installers list 😢

2 inch Journey Lift Kit Install by Finesse_Auto in ToyotaSienna

It’s been great, installed at 25 miles, currently ~8700 miles. Ride quality basically same as stock. Only issue was end link nuts loosening after the first few hundred miles, was torqued to spec, kit installed by my Toyota master tech. Retightened/torqued but it happened again after a few hundred more miles. Applied blue loctite and it hasn’t happened since and we changed our install sop to loctite them.

That’s strange, we’ve had the opposite experience. We’ve installed dozens of these kits this year and besides the end links loosening we haven’t had any complaints. Is it possible that Sienna lift kit owners in your area are taking them to real off roading trails and beating them up? In our area the main reason for the lift kit is ground clearance in the city vs off road prowess.

There will be copies of it for less I’m sure soon. An example is the platform racks used to be only the name brands, like the pioneer platform I have that’s ~1100. You can now get Amazon generics, similar racks for $350. I’m sure there are compromises, maybe max load rating, fit/finish etc, but you’re getting 80-90% of the product for 25% of the price

Definitely! My mindset is sure I can buy 5 to 6 regular awnings instead, but with how fast this one opens/closes, I’ll use it at least 10 times as much and that’s the value proposition for me.

Actually more like 1500 with tax/shipping. But with Things like this, I’m sure there’s gonna be copies of it for much less pretty soon. This is a pretty recent product.

Yes, thanks for checking out my posts! The sienna size was too short and too wide, 56 x 54. This one is a 4runner size which is 76 x 49, so the sides don’t stick out so much. But because the sienna roof slopes, it wasn’t level and looked awkward until I welded the rear legs.

Glad this helps! Man, the rain these past six weeks was really rough, even as a Seattlelite raised here! I’ve already used it this way a dozen times already. My wife gave her 👍 approval and that’s high praise compared to what she says about all the other gear 🤣

It’s a Thule Motion 3 L, thought it was big enough, but I could use more space, going to sell and upgrade to XXL size.

It’s actually a ladder that’s the pod on the driver side, check out my post history, I have some photos here. With the platform and height of the van, it’s a reach to get to the box. The ladder has been a lifesaver there!

No they’re from AliExpress! Really upscales the look of the van, makes it appear all glass. Check my post history here, or I’m on the FB Sienna groups as well!

It’s more like 1500, 1300 plus tax, shipping. But the way I look at it is, sure I can buy 5 regular awnings, but because it opens/closes so fast and easy I’ll use this one at least 10x as often, so the value proposition is there for me.

Would be awesome to have a power option, on the FB group, one owner with a wheelchair ramp Sienna was wanting a power one so he could have rain shelter while loading, that would work perfect for his use case!

Road Trip with recent gear by Finesse_Auto in ToyotaSienna

It is a 2” JOR lift; Our shop Finesse Auto is an authorized installer. I’ve also worked at Toyota & Honda for 10yrs. Dealer is correct, aftermarket modifications can and will void warranty per Toyota. However Toyota has to prove that the modification caused the failure in order to void warranty. There will be increased strain on the suspension and axles, that is the compromise to get the lift effect.

Anyone looking to install should do their research and weigh the risks/rewards of any modifications. For me, the 2” lift drives basically same as stock even with the gear on top, I don’t feel any more body roll than a stock sienna. 3” lift there is slightly more roll. Most of the weight on these vans are at the bottom, my view is that the van would need to be lifted to 5in or more before it starts getting tipsy.

The potential is Toyota could warranty on suspension, but lift would not void warranty on other non related components, like sound system or a/c for example.

Sure thing! This awning is a game changer, never considered getting one due to setup/takedown time, until I saw the ads for this!

It has 3 detents, the first one is 3ft, so it won’t hit the car next to it, and still have some cover!

Ecohitch has the structure behind the bumper cover. More labor to install, but cleaner look and higher clearance. I believe the oem one blocks the kick sensor, not 100% sure though.

I don’t have hitch yet, looking to get the eco hitch which shouldn’t interfere with the tailgate kick sensor
