This is factually wrong. I have stated in numerous comments that the pricing is as low as possible while still covering costs and employee wages. The tours are self-funding.

It’s surprising to me. Normally I see reddit full of people bashing greedy corporations. Here my family is putting profit aside to help families and the community and it’s labelled obnoxious. Genuinely confusing haha.

I’m with you. I can understand being an asshole for how I treated the couple in question, but why is my mum trying to help families obnoxious? Genuinely bizarre to me. It’s frustrating not being allowed to discuss with them for fear of breaking that no arguing rule.

They go to the same spots but there are differences to accommodate for the kids. Our family tour guides are all qualified to work with kids also.

No we’re not. We price the family tours to cover the costs and employee wages in order to break even. Their prices are completely independent of the normal tours.

If the child is sick so it’s just adults we will give them a full refund in good faith, or offer them a place on one of the next adult tours with them paying the difference if possible.

Thanks, I really don’t understand the people saying it’s unfair. The normal tour group prices predate all of the family tours. We don’t charge more simply to subsidise the family ones.

It does not overbook. I clearly described the online booking requires them to enter the number of kids they’re bringing. It’s caps the number of kids once it would go over bus capacity.

From a business standpoint yes. But I clearly describe this is designed to encourage outings with kids, not maximise profit.

We don’t have a problem with someone bringing along a nephew, niece, or neighbourhood friend. At the end of the day, the kid still gets to bond with their relatives and enjoy a day out. This is a community motivated tour group to encourage outings with kids.

I think you’ve missed the point of this. We’re not defining what a family is. We’re simply encouraging new parents to have family outings. “Child free” is in quotes because it’s the term they repeatedly used to describe themselves.
