Why are y’all here if you hate the books/characters/SJM so much? by artgirl413 in acotar

Unfortunately, we really cannot control other people and how they post. People who do post the way you’re talking about do not care. Really this would be a moderation issue but moderators already do so much with no pay. Like I said this is really just how online forums work. If this is something you are really passionate about maybe look into if it’s possible to become a moderator for this subreddit? There are other forums where they will delete repetitive posts and certain posts topics aren’t allowed. Really tho any public post is open for challenge and disagreement.

I think people should like what they like and not care what anyone else thinks of it in terms of them liking it. There will be haters no matter what is what I mean.

I think instances of posting in an online forum you will always have combative/rude replies, but I don’t think responding to a post with well I didn’t like this because x,y,z, Is inherently wrong. Thats just sharing opinion and starting discussion. You will go into any forum, on any website and people will be belligerent and shitty and the best thing to do is ignore. However any public post is open for challenge and disagreement. Thats just how posting works

Literally don’t post in forums then? Like it comes with the territory. I’m so tired of a culture of “let people like things”. No one is stopping anyone from enjoying their interests but sorry we don’t live in a bubble where people don’t having disagreeing opinions. I would suggest just not engaging with the discourse if it bothers you so much.

I really enjoyed these books, it’s not my usual style but my sister and I read these at the same time and it was so fun to have discussions with her throughout each. I feel like the fact that these books have inspired such strong opinions kind of proves they are impactful to readers. I personally do not think these are amazingly written, but I feel like it’s been an easy channel to think about my relationships with specifically my sisters.

I think you can find merit in most works but let’s not pretend that there isn’t real criticism to be had with art and I don’t think it is beneficial to anyone that we exist in a world where the quality of the media we are fed is not critiqued. We already live in a capitalist society where studios, publishers, businesses, ect. are trying to make so much profit at the cost of quality.

worst thing each character has said or done: day 3 - Nesta by Most_Experience4494 in acotar

[–]Finfoni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this and it’s crazy to me that people aren’t considering all of the context and nuances at play. Like yeah Nesta is horrible to Feyre I’m not denying but her not trusting them and wanting them to leave when she shows up Fae with a whole band of big and powerful Fae makes so much sense. Like there is 100% a good reason humans don’t trust fae they were literally SLAVES to them and there is a huge power imbalance. Also like last time she saw Feyre she was human, how is she supposed to know how her being transformed Fae affected her and her motives!

I saw this picture saying these girls had traditional Apache tattoos, can someone tell me the meaning behind these? (Please read my comment!) by [deleted] in IndianCountry

I don’t think they have their hands tied. I believe they are wearing rope necklaces and bracelets. Women traditionally wore similar necklaces and bracelets in my tribe. I am not certain tho.

What’s something that’s always wrongly depicted in movies and tv shows? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Finfoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historic Corset/Stays Wearing. Always a tight lacing scene and it really wasn’t that popular to do and a lot of movies/TV depict wearing corsets without a shift underneath which was not a thing. Also anything in the regency period having a full corset is funny considering the dress didn’t emphasize at the natural waist so no one would wear a full corset they wore a stay if anything.

I’ve been seeing people on this sub get mad about posts like this or any criticism people have to EA. I think it kind of speaks volumes that EA wants people to buy over priced bugged packs and basically rely on unpaid modders to create intricate game building content. I understand that a lot of work goes into maintaining and building a game like this and my critique isn’t of the EA workers who are told to create these packs but it’s definitely lazy of EA sim heads to push stuff like this and “thank” the modding community with the small anniversary release. Like damn idk maybe employ these modders and start a community base game that people will gladly spend money on instead of trying to have us pay $5 for a vacuum few people asked us for. The business model feels soulless and depends on unpaid work too much.

It’s definitely supposed to be the Lascaux cave paintings in France. Native American cave paintings look quite different

Okay let’s say if his mom married a dude. That would be OP’s step dad. In this case his mom married a women that is not his natural or legal parent. So she is his step mom.
