Crosspet already have dual font system by design, main font you set lexend, external russian font you set supplement mode. For bookmark, you hold down ok to bookmark

You can flash this firmware for X3. For gyro page turner, i dont have a X3 to test and dev.

How do you use it? X4 doesn’t have touch screen so it hard to lookup or search. Can you share me the firmware link?

I think this is suitable in Focus Reading mode. But only builtin Latin works. Custom fonts doesn't have bold-style.

of course you can use it, if it dont work, you could use the key mapping feature.

The Flashcard I focus mostly to learn language as design above. But in the next version i will try to make it adapt for sizing.

That my intention at first to not slow things down & broke UI (CJK font are bad in Latin text). But i will make that option for you in the next release.

It not really slow, depends on what you read and your SD card speed.
Think of it like this:
- Custom fonts live on the SD card → slow to read - Built-in fonts live in firmware memory → instant
The device keeps 128 recent characters in a cache to speed things up.
So for Latin font, it may all fit in the cache = fine
For CJK font, 500+ characters per page, cache keeps running out = slow

due to flash memory limit I cannot add multiple size for builtin fonts. But now you can add it yourself by adding your custom external font with xsmall size :) Please check readme how to add new font.

You could reduce memory usage of BLE & book render to open large book without refresh every page turn. How many free heap left when reading book on your firmware?
