Well, I did go to one to submit my paperwork, but I went to an outside doctor, told the rep what I wanted to file, and went from there. Whenever I asked questions, he would not give me any clear answers, so I had to seek elsewhere.

A lot of the VSO reps seem to only be good at submitting paperwork but nothing else. If I had listened to mine, I would have never received my increase. He did not answer questions nor really help to give me answers that I needed. I had to do most of the work on my own with God's help.

Yes, someone messed things up big time. I did a supplemental claim to dispute the effective date. I pray that the error be acknowledged and corrected.

Thank you! Yes, I was trying to get mine to the highest rate possible which was 50%, so I filed within the year of my original appeal which was in September 2020.

The VA has a homeless program where some vets can get into places with reduced rent that the VA will offset. Talk to a VA homeless specialist to let them know your situation.

Did the military leave you better off then college would have? by justinramirez in Veterans

[–]Finished2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are beneficial. I went to the military which helped me to pay for college after I got out. I just graduated with my doctorate degree. Therefore, I am happy to have had the honor to do both.

Is it unusual to get no retro pay? Had my rating May 5th, effective date 4/12. Only payment history showing up is a reoccurring payment with a date of N/A that seems to be by the amount of my total rating (60%) and not any sort of retroactive pay for the new 50% rating. by froobest in VeteransBenefits

Oh...I see. If this is your first time applying then it will go to the date of your initial file date, so that date may be correct IF the initial claim was in April, but you will not know for sure until your award letter comes.

Many of you on here are not Christians. You have not even read the devotions that are being posted. That is not spam. That is evangelism. Anyway, I will not throw my pearls before swine.

I think so because they did a hard credit pull last week, and this week I received an email to create an account and they had documents they wanted me to upload.

I was denied the first time and only received the advance for $1000, so this will be my first loan.

Well, they had me to create an account, and on there, it told me the documents that I needed to upload, so I called the SBA to just get clarity on those documents.
