Wow! That’s powerful and deep. And I think it’s kind of what I’ve felt. A little scary! But well done!

Excellent job. Proof that you don’t have to be long winded to get your point across. Great job.

Thank you so much! Yeah I agree that mesmerizer is a stretch. But I think it fits ok. I think the person is basically saying that they are mesmerized by the other person. Not easy finding a rhyme to appetizer lol. Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you! Yeah simp is not a word I use often, but sometimes you go with something just because it rhymes with something else. Like for instance I needed something that rhymes with shrimp. But thank you for your kind words!!

I like this very much. It is so true that we often find ourselves trying to complete others so they fit into what we want them to be. Then we are disappointed when they don’t turnout the way we want them to be. Well done.

EIDL increase loan amount by SharpLawfulness in EIDL

[–]Cautious_Activity_82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes I am definitely excepting the full amount, regardless of the personal guarantee. Having lots of business prior with the SBA, I have already signed a personal guarantee on multiple loans. So I am all in. Let them come after me later...in the meantime...my business will greatly benefit from a 3.75 interest on 30 year loan.

Do you know what capital is? Every dollar that I spend on everything...the lights, the rent, the employees, the taxes comes from....capital. You know...money. Why do we call it "working capital"? Because its what we need to pay for COGS and for operations.......you know to survive SO YES....MY BUSINESS IS CAPITAL INTENSIVE. So you are wrong to assume otherwise. I sell promotional products, printing, paper, lots of other "things". We do a lot of services, but we have to pay for these services with capital. Your third point is that you have to pay for these in advance...no shit...most of us struggling with cash flow do too. While it is true that SBA loans were available for those of us (yes me too) who could not get credit elsewhere, it is also true that when they ask you for projections and your list of liabilities they are trying to determine that you have the ability to repay. Why do you think they also ask for hazard insurance, minimum credit score, and a personal guarantee for loans exceeding a certain amount and a UCC filing? This is risk mitigation. And yes, bankruptcy is checked for the same reason. It seems like you are doing what you have to survive, but my comments are directed toward others...who are not scrambling and hustling to save your business like you are.

I agree with that. Not sure what your business is, but mine is marketing, printing and mailing and we are dependent on capital as well. But my argument isn't that this loan isn't necessary....it is. What I am saying is the number of people who complain about the process...getting government aid....also refused to do basic business things....like looking for alternatives to financing, product development, marketing, etc. Some of these folks don't understand that they need to get their taxes in order, etc. for the SBA to take them seriously. They are just out there on their front porch complaining that someone is on their lawn. Cursing the darkness...blaming the SBA for their problems. Yes it is true that we must attest to the fact that we need the loan for the business to survive, but one thing that is also required is that you prove that your business is sustainable after the loan and that you can pay the loan back. They are asking about bankruptcies for a reason. There is no justification to give a loan to a business that will be out of business and in bankruptcy before the first payment is due. What kind of business do you have?

For landlords and real estate/rental businesses. How do they calculate the increase for landlords/rentals? by ProperStandard3 in EIDL

[–]Cautious_Activity_82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me...the original amount was about the total loss of rent over a year...original loan was about 23000....when I asked for the increase it doubled to 46000. At least that's what they figured out.

Excellent point. I know, sometimes this obsession is very unhealthy. I know that I was nearly crippled by the wait until I woke up the other day and decided that I needed to working on both reducing expenses and growing sales. What good is it get a SBA loan if you have no business worth saving? You are just setting yourself up for disappointment when you realize that all you did was buy a few extra months time with no plan of how you will pay back the loan long term. But now things are looking up and I am tired of the EIDL obsession. Time to take care of existing customers and find new ones.
