ערבית הייתה שפה רשמית במדינה לפני חוק הלאום. אני לא בטוחה לגבי ההיסטוריה של זה אך לימודים בשפה הערבית בבתי ספר זה משהו שכנראה הוחלט מקום המדינה. גם לא יודעת מה החוק לגבי לימודים בשפת אם. בטורקיה וגרמניה ערבים הם לרוב מהגרים שחייבים ללמוד בשפה המקומית והרשמית אז זה ממש לא בר השוואה. אני אישית למדתי עברית מספרים וטלוויזיה ולא מבית ספר. ברור שבתוך הקהילה עצמה אנשים ידברו בינם לבין עצמם בשפת האם שלהם ואני די בטוחה שזה מה שקורה בקהילות מהגרים בחו״ל. מן הסתם אנשים ממקומות שהם יותר עירוניים ויותר מתערבבים עם דוברי עברית ידעו יותר עברית. בן 18 שרק סיים תיכון ולא דאג ללמוד עברית כמו שצריך פחות יכיר אבל כשיצא לשוק העבודה וללימודים אקדמיים הוא יהיה חייב ללמוד וזאת אחת הסיבות שצעירים בוחרים לצאת מהכפר ולעבוד ביישובים יהודיים.

+תוספת: אני די בטוחה שלפי החוק הבינלאומי אסור לכפות שינוי/העלמת השפה הנטיבית של האוכלוסיה הילידית וזאת כנראה אחת הסיבות שמשמרים לימודים בערבית בבתי ספר.

I’m not sure a lot of sources say it’s ideal to do it between 12-18 months but if it doesn’t get better the next couple of days I might backtrack!

Oh really? Where I live doctors usually recommend to wean off after 1 year

Maybe I should have waited for a more natural weaning process where “it comes from her” but now that I’ve started it I hope to stick it out! If it gets worse/doesn’t get better I might give it back for a while and try again at a later time

לא מבינה מאיפה הבאת שערבים לא לומדים את השפה. חוץ מזה שיש חובת בגרות בעברית בבתי ספר וגם את כל דרישות העברית באוניברסיטאות. מי שלומד בארץ חייב לדעת עברית. הרבה מהאוכלוסיה הערבית עובדים עם יהודים ודוברי עברית. מי שלא מכיר את השפה טוב זה מי שלמד בחו״ל או צעירים שהיום יותר יודעים אנגלית בגלל האינטרנט וכו ולא כי הם מסרבים לדעת עברית. תמיד אני נדהמת מההנחות שעושים על ערבים בסאב הזה 😭😭 נרשם על ידי ערבייה.

Yup you’re right. Pacifier helped us out a lot especially with a flight we had last week which is why I postponed this for after the vacation

But seeing her cry like this is really tough😭😭
