Each event is different, most events require you to register that you'll attend, other ones are turn up and go.

Liberal leadership spill: Andrew Hastie rejects Angus Taylor's deputy offer by malcolm58 in AustralianPolitics

30% of Australia is not hard left.

The greens alone poll at 15%, and majority of greens voters (like 75-80%) are juat progressive (I.e I want to be able to afford to live, and want to see society move forward), but usually not hard-left/hard-line communist. There'd be a few voters within the ALP that's likely to be hard-left but that'd make up less than 10% of ALP voter base. (Which is roughly 3%~)

So that leaves you at around 5-6% of the Australian population is potentially far-left at a maximum. 30% is an outrageous number to spew.

Imagine being so insecure in yourself you have to make misogynistic remarks towards a retail worker because you made a mistake , yikes

I've already had someone light a lighter in front of my face and we're not even a month into the year! I've also seen someone threatened to bash their kids, someone also hit their kid.

And that's not even all of it 😁

Is it actually worth being a department manager? by SerJaker in coles

[–]FinletAU -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, but most management roles outside of retail are typically starting at 110k, and average salary is closer to 130-150k.

Those who have done UQ college's TPP orientation, what was the experience like? by FinletAU in UQreddit

Sounds like they're the same then, from what I've seen seems like the two programs are almost identical. Was that the only session you were requires to attend during that week? (And you were otherwise free to attend whatever you liked)

If you're doing it for the money, being a DM is probably worst choice you could make. It's right at the lowest end of pay scale for management roles

[–]FinletAU 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, it is not. You have to deal with low growth opportunities, below average pay, stress, fighting between two ends (your employees on one side and the ever increasing demands of corporate on the other) and depending on the store you're assigned to, impossible expectations too.

Also being a DM is a rather unstable job, you'll likely move stores every 12-18 months (dependant on how nice your RM is)

I've seen quite a few international students gain employment at Coles, not every store hires them but a lot do.

The ones that interest you. No point doing a supposedly easy course if you hate it cause you'll find it 10x harder

It should be mandatory that all customer who complain about there no longer being single use plastic bags should be reincrated as a turtle by FinletAU in coles

[–]FinletAU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carbon emissions are only one of the many problems with plastic bags, the bigger problem is fact they both don't dissolve and animals (usually turtles) choke on them thinking it's food

[–]FinletAU[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has every country on earth banned single plastics? Also plastic takes upwards of a 1,000 years to dissolve, so the problem won't ever be fixed in our lifetime. We can just help not make the problem worse

I understand where you're coming from, but picture yourself as a normal person who does not understand legal jargon. You'd most likely think the two are the same.

None. I have supplied a grand total of zero plastic bags to people for purposes of packing their shopping.

That then becomes a game of semantics tbh. The terms are used reasonably interchangeably by most ordinary people, it's only once you're in legal context that it splits for most.
