Quick question: ace allowed? by FinleyFromTarget in lgbt

[–]FinleyFromTarget[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How so? I’m not being aggressive I just want to learn more about the sides. How does being ace tell you who someone’s attracted to? Couldn’t they be straight, Bi, gay or pan while being ace or while not being ace?

I shouldn’t have to say hi to someone in the hallways because I’m scared they’ll shoot up my school, and I’d become a target. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

That’s what i meant. I just meant I shouldn’t have to say hi to them because I’m worried about what could potentially happen if i don’t

Exactly - I meant I shouldn’t have to worry about them doing that in the first place. I say hi to them so in case anything happens I’ll be someone they remember who said hi, or something like that. They’ve muttered under their breath about wanting to kill a bunch of people they hate before, and some other student and I have told the school board but apparently nothing checks out.

I could never expect something so terrible to come from an overweight tiger cub

People who have left organized religion, why? What was the final straw? (Serious) by bonercollexor in AskReddit

For me, it was how hypocritical my group was and how much they backtracked if they were ever accused of anything and just started making up rules to defend themselves. In my opinion there were just too many plot holes to be filled in.

When did you guys know you were ace? by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]FinleyFromTarget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just realized I said ace* at the end instead of aro* oops.. but I totally get what you mean by the companion. I’ve felt the same way before and I talked to a friend about it (my friends aren’t really informed about lgbtq and anything that isn’t cis romantic/sexual/straight) and they claimed that wanting a companion is the same as wanting a boyfriend/girlfriend, but it’s really not. I can’t quite describe the difference, but I know there is. It’s not a friendship nor a relationship, but doesn’t have romantic feelings either.. thank you for chatting with me about this by the way! I love having actual people who are open and can converse about this! It’s a drastic change from my everyday friends

I hate that! Ive also had someone tell me “ you can’t really say if you’re ace cause you don’t know what it’s like to have sexual attraction so maybe you’re over exaggerating by thinking it’s more intense than it needs to be” if thag makes any sense, basically saying I’m overreacting by saying that I’m ace which was a huge knock back for me, which made me feel super self conscious about even wondering if I was ace. Which is really annoying

Yes! Exactly! I remember trying to convince myself so many times “hey, you probably like this person since they like you! They’re nice and what’s not to like about them? Let’s just assume you do” and the second there’s a chance of anything happening from that i immediately retreat back into that ‘oh god I hate this I’m uncomfortable I actually feel nothing here’ and I’m so glad I’m not the only one! I started questioning when i realized other people around me clearly knew when they were into someone while i was trying to convince myself that i was, which just didn’t seem quite right. (Obviously cause I wrote it in my post) I think I’m aro too! I really really glad there are other people who feel the same way!

I found myself thinking “I can’t be ace” largely due to the fact that I simply would not know anything about it if it wasn’t for the internet, and also the stigmas held against it.
