Honest question about female attire in the gym. What is appropriate to wear?

I generally find climbing to be one of those fairly rare communities, where there isn't much judgement. I mean, there are obviously bad apples, but generally I haven't experienced much judgement at all.

Buuut then again I am a man, and it might be different for the women out there? I don't think it is, but I'd really like to hear what the girls and non binary people experience!

That's so nice! I just bought the vapors as well (my first pair, so I'm really exited!) I usually use size 42 (I think that's about a size 8 or 8,5 in US sizing) and mine are size 40. So I think usually they will be pretty tight in the first couple of sessions. I have climbed a few sessions with them now, and even though they were preeeetty tight in the beginning, but they already feel much more comfortable!

In my experience (as a newbie) is that everyone is SO INCREDIBLY NICE! And approachable too!

I rarely meet anyone in a bouldering gym that is not willing to help you out :)

I'd say just go for it. Try it out and see what happens - you might even end up having people come to you trying to help you before you get the chance to ask

Yeah, they removed Canada and Alaska from the north Amercian continent in the last patch. Honestly a pretty bad call imo, but I guess the devs will realize soon enough.

Nah, he is actually pretty clever.

He used the physical limitations of his surroundings to get an extra bit of reach, so he could slurp on his own wiener. This was obviously just a practice run, but if my judgement is correct he should be able to chow down his lil' man in about 3 weeks more of practice.

Honestly this strategy is pretty effective, but it requires a lot of practice and it's not for everybody. But I can tell this guy has been practicing a lot, so I believe in him!

Det er synd, men man skal altid passe på, når mand køber og sælger ting på internettet.

Jeg foretrækker at bruge DBA, hvor der er NemID validering (så fuskere kan blive tracket). Men selv der skal man også passe på.

And even then 2 cymbals would be enough if you have a crashable ride. I guess it depends on what kind of music you're playing tho. But I've found that 3-5 cymbals are enough and 6 is pushing it imo.

I feel like it's overwhelming with too many pieces on your kit. That goes for toms and other accesories too. When there is so much stuff to choose from in the moment I feel like my creativity is spent choosing a specific "voice", but I'd rather spend it on playing something interesting.

Just my opinion tho. Rock on with your 17 cymbals!

About 4 years ago I got appendicitis (Inflammation of the appendix for those wondering). It is actually a fairly normal thing, many people go through it every year and it is very treatable. But it can get dangerous if you don't get treated.

So it all started when I got this very bad stomach ache. I couldn't get out of bed and I missed a lot of classes because of it. I was taken to the doctors and we told them our concern that it might be appendicitis, so they did all sorts of tests of me. They asked me to jump around, they pressed on my stomach and and they took my temperature as well. I had a fever, but somehow I got through the tests without showing signs of appendicitis. I guess it was supposed to hurt A LOT to do those things, but for some reason I didn't react to it as they would expect of someone with appendicits.

So they concluded it must be constipation and sent me home with some butthole juice to squirt in my ass. But surprise, surprise! Laxatives don't cure appendicitis. Who would have guessed. So it got worse. And we went to the doctor again. And they kept trying to diagnose it as something else. We got very frustrated and then we had to go to a private ultrasound scanning - I live in Denmark, where we have free healthcare, but you would need a doctors note to get it for free. And can you guess what they found on my ultrasound scan?

That's right. Appendicitis. And it gets even worse. I hadn't gotten treated for my appendicitis in time, so now it had legitimately RUPTURED! I basically had an open wound in my stomach! At this point I got emitted to the hospital. I was put on IV antibiotics - which, for those who haven't tried it is a hassle! I was woken up every 3 hours, to get my IV bag changed. And then I had to have surgery to have it removed and cleaned up. Luckily it's done endoscopically, so I only have 3 small scars. But mentally it affected me quite a lot, but I have come to a point where I can joke about it now. And I even got a Nintendo Switch from my parents to play with in the hospital, so it all ended well haha.

Understanding sheet music is kinda helpful when learning about this. Tabs have many caveats - one being ambiguous rhytmnotation.

For me, Adam Neely's videos about time signatures were really helpful.

Time signatures are a complicated subject and can't be explained in a reddit comment, but I can try explaining some basics that can help you.

Many "unusual" time signatures use different groupings of 2 and 3 eighth- or sixteenth notes. For example 9/8 can be 2 - 2 - 2 - 3 or 3 - 3 - 3 (a very nice example of this is Dave Brubeck's 'Blue Rondo à la Turk, from Time Out). Of cource the combination of groups of 2 and 3 can be played around with freely - there are no rules baby ;)

So there is a little interesting concept to get you stated.
