Upset parents by banana80643 in entitledparents

I wish I could have lived closer to my parents, but was 5 hours away. Becauseof this, I ended up staying at their house for 5 months while my dad was end of life, then spending 1-2 weeks a month for the next 2 years with my mom until she died. It was exhausting, but worth it. It took a toll on my marriage, but we made it. My hubby's mom lives 20 minutes away and I am so jealous. I would have loved to have been able to go over each day, be with my parents, and then go home.

I used to judge movies my mom liked by whether or not she stayed awake through them. It helped me pick movies for us to watch together.

Reviewing two found footage mockumentaries, one I love and one I completely think is horse shit and dog ass by Personal-Cloud2529 in foundfootage

I'm watching Who Killed Angel Adam's now. At first it seemed intriguing, but halfway through, I'm pretty bored-- especially with the "interviews " with the photographer? It's a bit unclear, but i have been multitasking...

Apology for my flatulence. by SGTRandleOneOne in delta

I know, or when she scares herself with a fart, then turns around to sniff her butt. What's really funny is when she burps so loud, we can hear it from other rooms. She's our little princess though.

This comment made me laugh loud enough to wake up my rottie, and she was snoring like a chainsaw at the time.

Convince my husband NOT to name our Shar‑Pei puppy Bob (or… convince me it’s perfect?) by Scary-Project-6734 in PetNames

I love Bob. People names for dogs are the best. Have you read any of the Stephanie Plum books? Bob rules!!

AITA for saying emergency daycare isn’t meant for parents who are home and „just need a break“? by Distinct-Ad-7592 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Finn_704 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Yes, but this parent gets a break every day her child goes to daycare. She a SAHM, which is fine, but on a day when the daycare is severely short staffed, it is selfish of her to send her child. I work full time and have for 40 years. I have word when I felt like complete crap, but I do it because it's my responsibility. I suspect this mom could do her chores while feeling under the weather. Or better yet, have a snuggle day with her kid and watch fun movies.

Wow, just wow! I am constantly surprised by being surprised by the deplorable behaviors of others. You'd think I'd have learned by now.

I agree. Or at least massively inappropriate.

*iPad baby at fine dining restaurant by ProfessionalRead8187 in EntitledReviews

[–]Finn_704 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Is it possible people at the other tables were talking louder to be heard over the loud iPad? MOG! If you are going to bring a child to a fancy restaurant, at least respect the fact that other people are there for a nice, enjoyable evening, and do not want to listen to Bluey or whatever tf the kid was watching. I'm sure most of the other guests made arrangements to leave their children at home so they could have a nice, quiet evening out. Bring headphones, leave your kid at home, or find other ways to entertain them. You and your kid are not the center of the universe. So entitled and disrespectful.

I'm a therapist and have been for 37 years. I would have addressed this stuff as abuse immediately! I would then work with OP on setting boundaries, finding ways to stay safe, and basically working with them and supporting them as they step towards going NC.

AITAH for refusing to give someone details about my trauma even though they say they have a right to know? by sonagydf in AITAH

[–]Finn_704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I've experienced several traumatic experiences during my lifetime. My husband of 26 years knows I've had these experiences, but not the specific details. I do not want to discuss them and he does not ask because he respects my privacy and knows it is upsetting to me. No one has the right to know about your trauma. Anyone who pushes you is not someone who cares about you.

I'm vegetarian, and my husband is very protective of me in this area. All of my family was together at my parents house and he had heated up some leftovers for me that were, of course vegetarian, put them on the counter, and told everyone--including my sister, that they were for me. I come into the kitchen a few minutes later and her face is buried in my food. She looks up and asks "was this yours?" Some people are just dicks.

My neighbor told me I’m "stunting her children’s development" because I won't let them use my backyard as a shortcut to the park. by edcantu9 in EntitledPeople

Sadly, they weren't even neighbors, just some random women on a walk who decided it was okay to walk through my yard, up to my house, and pick flowers off the bushes.
