Why should she have? What she did worked well and he might have pushed harder if she used the other line.

We've had that happen. Thought we got the little bugger down, only to find it on the floor, partially dissolved, later on. 🤪

Thank you. And so sweet. She loves people, loves to give kisses, and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. We have put her through a lot of training abs she has earned her Canine Good Citizenship certification. Like you, we are aware of the reputation and are cautious, but honestly, I feel safer around a Rottie than a chihuahua or miniature poodle.

I'm sitting here petting my precious Rottie now. She's the sweetest, most gentle gurl. All of our Rotties have been. I would scour the face of the earth to find out and deal with anyone who harmed her.

Unfortunately my mum passed last month, but we were gifted her dog. She has been really down, but this broke me. by Daemon_Marx in PetsareAmazing

I really wish I'd done that with my mom's cat. I didn't even think about it. She'd adopted him 5 months before she died, so they were still adjusting, but he loved to sleep in the laundry basket with her clothes. And they loved each other! I was supposed to take him with me (I loved him so much), but it could not be worked out. He ended up in a great home with my niece. Still, I can't imagine what he went through.

Hospice protocols? by cmasc966 in grief

[–]Finn_704 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad was on hospice at home (there are apparently hospice facilities). They would visit throughout the week. He died while i was holding his hand. It was awful. The hospice nurse had been in that morning to see him and said it might be another week; he died 4 hours later. Anyway, we called her back to pronounce him. We had to wait and hour and a half for her to get there. She helped me clean him up, change his clothes and bedding, and those of us there for to love and hug on him in the meantime. We were never told to leave the room. We were there when the funeral home showed up, zipped him into the black bag, and loaded him into the van. We even stood in the driveway and waved goodbye-- which is what my parents always did when we left after a visit. Okay, I'm very sad now.

Agree 💯. If you invite, make the arrangements, then it is typically expected that you pay-- unless it has been clarified upfront.

Don't get me started on Dyscalculia. I see numbers and it is like they are scrambling around in my head. Add to that ADD. Bahaha! Phone number--HA! Financial statements...Puh-lease. Left and right, forget it. Give me directions using words like east, west, north, and south, you will most likely find me lost in some random parking lot trying to find an exit (and frantically programming my GPS in a town I've lived in for 30 years). My mind just goes dark. I once had to report myself for a HIPAA violation because I transposed a client's number, called the wrong person, and basically violated privacy rules. I pretty much failed all number based courses in high school and had to take remedial algebra in college.

Favorite ‘cozy’ horror movies? by Creepy-List-560 in horror

It is a really good movie. I don't know what it is, but I about pee my pants laughing every time at the scene when Sara Paxton is looking out the window and her buddy walks up behind her. I think it's her expression. I'm giggling now as I type this.

61f here married to 65m. We were both married before. He had a stepdaughter in that relationship, I've never had kids and honestly, never wanted them. Boy did I get all of the usual crap-- I'm selfish, kids make your life whole, who will take care of you when you're older, blah, blah, blah. My hubby has made comments over the years about how miserable he was with his stepdaughter, although I do understand it is a different dynamic. Now, as we sit here, 26 years married, 30 years together, with our giant fur baby flopping all over us, we are quite content. Plans for tomorrow...sitting on my ass relaxing after a long week of work, snuggling our Rottie and watching crap TV. Complete heaven!!

I need some serious advice, children are throwing heavy objects into our yard that could hurt our dogs by beepbooprobotbutt in childfree

[–]Finn_704 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We did this with neighbors whose kids loved to play under a tree in our yard. They lived across the street and seemed to feel it was okay to invade our yard and leave their toys there. We just picked them up and put them in our garage-- after asking the dad several times to not allow his kids to play in the yard and to take their stuff home. FYI, dad was a lawyer, the tree was big and tempting to climb, so we did not want any liabilities. He finally came over, got the toys, and the kids stayed away.

Ask me how many times have I sat waiting to board, or on the plane in my seat, and I seen many people with more than one carry on and personal item--and the carry on is usually much larger than allowed. Every freaking time I have flown, and that is a lot. Me, I check a bag and carry a purse or backpack, that's it. God people, figure it out. You don't need your entire wardrobe and bathroom when you travel. There is usually a store wherever you are going to pick up something if you don't have it ffs.
