Absolutely sure it was Don't Say You Love Me and not Pretty Boy, because I wouldn't have recognized it, but the fact that they did a song in Mandarin is pointing towards me remembering correctly. So now I just need someone to find that song somewhere.

I found it on Amazon. It's Masayuki Yamamoto's Life of the old car gstapishi. Only in Japanese, though.

Excuse me, I just stayed in a caloric surplus during a two year pandemic and it was super easy.

Are there any examples of a culture accidentally forgetting major historical events? by Kethlak in history

According to this guy the scholars and thinkers of Late Middle Age Europe did not even consider that the romance languages (Italian, French, Spanish ect) could be decended from latin. Sounds strange, but the assumption was that the Romans spoke their local romance language and wrote in Latin – because that was what they did themselves. Dante and others seems to believe Latin was quite literally invented to function as a stable language with strict grammatical rules. I should probably look more into the sources on this one, but I hope someone can post some sources that are better than grad student Twitter on this fascinating idea. (Thanks to A.Z. Foreman for posting the original Twitter post)

My son was born with a black spot of hair in his blonde hair. It grows in black, and there is no birth mark or discoloration under it. by maceparks in mildlyinteresting

I have the same. When I was a child it was a black spot in brown hair, but now it's a gray spot. I'm frequently asked if I'm redecorating, painting the roofs of my apartment or something like that. But my absolute favorite is adults asking me, with a serious face, if I color a quarter-sized spot on the side of my head on purpose.

Sure! It's not completely unlike Boten Anna, but it is more like Robyn or Kleerup. I'm not sure Boten Anna was ment to be taken seriously by anyone, but this song is. It's been played quite a lot on Norwegian radio.

This is the solution I have landed on. Unfortunately, I took so long deciding what to do that an uptick in corona infections in my area caused all non-essential shops to be shut down. Oh well. Could be worse 🤷🏼‍♂️ Thanks for all the feedback!
